| As I recall, the owner's manual for my C&C 26 was less than useful (the
only useful information in the manual for my current boat is the
distance from the waterline to the top of the mast). However, the C&C
manual did warn against letting more than 40% of the boat's weight rest
on the keel (which says more about the fragility of thin fin keels than
about C&C construction).
As to the keel bolt torque: The bolts are probably 1.5" or so in
diameter. Just get the nuts as tight as you can (it will probably take
well over a thousand ft-lbs of torque to shear the bolts) with the boat
out of the water (so you aren't trying to lift the keel). My keel bolts
are torqued to under 150 ft-lbs and I've never had any trouble.

| What version C&C25? I have a circa 1975 '25, and will copy the
manual I have if it is still of use to you. No keel bolt torques
in it though, as far as I can remember.....

| Thanks, Kees...I finally bought one for $35 which was less than
useless...until I sprung a leak and had to figure out the
stuffing box...
I have just purchased the Westerberke engine manual. If you
want to copy it give me a call (dtn 297-2839)
Where do you sail your 25 out of?
