467.0. "Help - Eurovision Song Contest 1991" by ARRODS::WHITEHEADJ (You know you could) Wed May 08 1991 09:27

   Can anyone help?

I watched the Eurovision Song Contest last Saturday and was very
impressed with the Norwegian entry: "Mrs Thomson" by Just 4 Fun.
So much so that I would like a copy of this song on record/CD or
pre-recorded cassette (over here in England we can buy cassette
singles), but it is not available in England. I recorded the song
from the radio during transmission but it's not very good quality!

So, is there anyone in Norway who would be willing to try and
obtain the record for me and then post it via the internal mail.
I would obviously be willing to pay the cost of the record and
any export/import duties if applicable. If preferred, I could
arrange payment in Norwegian Krona (sp?).

If this is possible, could someone please contact me by VMSmail at
the above address BEFORE purchasing the record.

   Many thanks,
   Jane

An ENORMOUS thank you to Henrik Wigestrand in Oslo for sending me
a cassette of all the Eurovision Song Contest songs in their original
versions. I look forward to receiving it later this week, hopefully
before I go to Spain on 18th May.

That's the second time a Scandinavian (if I may call you all that!)
have helped me out. What a wonderful people you are.

   Thanks again,
   Jane.

The cassette has arrived. The post between Norway and England is
much better than mail within England! Took only 72 hours.
   Many many thanks, Henrik.

The songs are wonderful, they are in their original versions and the
Norwegian entry, Mrs Thompson, is unbelievable, words cannot describe
how good it is! I can't stop listening to it.

And all the other songs are good as well, especially the Greek and
the Yugoslavian which is sung in English, as is the Finnish song.

   Again, thanks Henrik!

   Jane.
