1477.0. "BOOK: Wild Game Cookbooks" by BRSIS0::STAHLY () Fri Oct 28 1988 11:25

    As my father's birthday is fast approaching and we have a freezer
    full of wild game, I would love to find a game cookbook (I hope
    he's not reading this). As I will probably have to order it from
    an English bookstore any publication details you can include would
    be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Christine

L.L. Bean has a game cookbook that you could order and have shipped in a
couple of days.

The Gourmet Magazine Cookbooks also have a section on game that's pretty
extensive for recipies, but not helpful on details ("...clean and dress a
muskrat...")

    re: .1

    Thanks, JP, the L.L. Bean cookbook sounds like just the ticket.
    If you have it handy, could you post the ordering information?
    I'm currently in the Brussels office and I haven't seen a Bean
    catalogue since college.

    re: .2

    Liz, the Cajun game recipes would be wonderful. My dad is big into
    Cajun (and it gives the neighbors a little entertainment when we
    try to set the house on fire).

    I thank you, my father will thank you, my mother will probably hold
    off judgement until she tries the stuff (some people are such
    pragmatists).

    Christen,

    My husband rushed me out of the house this morning and I forgot
    my Cajun cookbook. But I will remember to bring it with me tomorrow,
    I will put it in my purse so that I won't forget it.

1477.5Have you seen the GLOBE today?BOEHM::C_SANDSTROMWed Nov 02 1988 09:297

    If you're in the area, pick up today's Boston Globe newspaper. They
    have a big FOOD section each Wednesday and today's topic is GAME MEAT!
    There's an article and recipes. I just had time to glance through it
    this morning but I know I saw venison recipes and fowl recipes.

    With all good food such as cajun cooking one needs to compliment
    the food with the best spice possible,I such a spice and it is the
    best around,so I have been told.By those who have tried it,so if
    some is needed than I'll be happy to tell you where to get such
    a spice.
