Since there was such a discussion on food processors, how about a topic on good food processor recipes? Things like a recipe that adapted well using a food processor or maybe a neat way to slice a certain vegetable for a stir fry or salade. I use my food processor often but I forget things like making a banana bread in the processor is so much faster. You can mash the banana, remove it, then cream the eggs and sugar in the working bowl.

Shortbread or any recipe requiring the mixing of large quantities of flour into miniscule quantities of butter are wonderful with a food processor. You don't even need to let the butter soften. | |||||

Drop 2-3 large peeled cloves of garlic and 2 stemmed whole jalapeno peppers in the bowl with the steel knife. Mince using several on-off pulses. Add a peeled medium yellow onion, and mince further. Add 2 ripe medium seeded tomatoes. Mince further. Add 3 ripe avocados and mince again. Scoop into a serving bowl. Salt and pepper to taste and serve chilled. The object is to add the stuff you want finest first, and the lumpy stuff last. The avocado should look coarsely mashed, not pureed. - JP |
