Team "A" get a penalty,No9 steps up to take it,but he gently kicks the
ball to his left, for his teammate No8 who has timed his run so he did
not enter the box untill No9 had touched he ball,he "No8" then runs on
to the ball intending to score ,the GK has then started to follow the
ball, when No8 then squares the ball back to No9,who tucks the ball int
an empty net,as the GK has started to move towards No8...You do know

| Greg,
No goal on two points:
1) the kick must be 'forwards' not sidewards
2) if no 8 entered the penalty area just as the kick was taken it was
too soon. He must wait until the ball is in play and that means it's
travelled its own circumferance.
You can then book 8 & 9 for arguing ;-}

Olsen played the ball back en Cruijff made the goal. I believe the

not knowing what had happened. The ref. allowed the goal without

How about this one. It's a cup semi final and the game finishes
a draw after extra time, so it goes to a penalty shoot out.
The kicker hits the penalty, the ball hits the bar and is on the
way back out, it hits the back of the keeper and goes in.
The ref didn't give the goal........was he right or wrong..???

| In my opinion.... it's a goal!!! I saw this happen in world cup play
and the goal stands. The play is dead only after the ball is out of
bounds, in the net, or stopped by the keeper. The kicker can not kick
it again, but since the goal is part of the field, it's like the ball
hitting a stone and then going into the net as it bounces off the leg
of the keeper.

Jeff

Because the Principality of Monaco has decided not to have a
federation. Therefore the football activities of the Principality are
ruled by the French Federation of Football (FFF).
AS Monaco is then participating in the French Championship.
There is no Monaco's national team.

First of all, thanks.
Second, I'm sorry about *MY* confusion around the town and the

Third, the lack of Federation makes the difference, the Welsh teams
have their own Federation, and National team, however, they still play
in the English Leagues.

We were trying to answer the Radio 5 question to name the 29 post war
full England internationals with four letter surnames. We have failed
miserably with only 11 names. Can anyone help?
So far we have:

Neil Webb Phil Neal
Paul Ince Andy Cole
Alan Ball Roger Hunt
Colin Bell Peter Reid
Ricky Hill Peter Ward
Don Howe David Nish
David Pegg T.Ward (Derby 1948/49)
G.Robb(Spurs 1954)
G.Shaw(Sheff Utd 1959)
Peter Swan
Gordon West
Ron Wood

| Hell knows, it's hard enough thinking of English surnames with four
letters! But I hate to throw in the towel, soooooo...
Does anyone know if Brian Hall (Liverpool) or Geoff Pike (West Ham)
ever got caps? I know this is scraping the barrel, but with all the
defections, some amazing people get to go on those end-of-season tours of
Malaysia and the South Seas.

| Well, one of them is the Wombles (gleaned from an article in the
Guarniad yesterday) as to the other, I'm not sure. Jeff reckons it's
the Arse. Anyone else got any ideas?
