The Rose are experts at making a mess.....have you seen them play
lately ?? I think if you want replies, it will need to be BU supporters

Colin your pally with Wullie Temps , I was in the Rose club about 2
weeks ago and Wullie was very pally with Sinclair , now sinclair has a
habit of playing his pal's in the rose team at the moment so is wullie
about to join the rose either playing or otherwise.
He might as well as the rest of sinclairs pals were c**p and it would
make a change if one turned out half decent.

Gordon,
i've no seen him or any of his family for a wee while but I can't
see him turning out to play. He's no at his fittest and he's got a bit
of a belly. Could be coming on to the coaching side, but I think he is
or was at Pumpherston. Anyway he might have been in to scail a pint as
he used to play for the BU's. 8*)
p.s. He's 34 now, but what I saw at the recent local derby with my team
and yours, he could stand in the middle and play the ball about nae
bother.

The rose had a good win on Sat against lesser opposition in the shape
of Preston athletic. It was a cup game so they're still in at least
one cup competion so far.
The result was 6 - 1 to the Rose so it should give them a bit of
confidence for next saturdays game away to Camleon in the league.
Currently they are trailing in the wake of Fauldhouse in the league but
they had a bad result at home to Bathgate last week when they lost 5 -
2 .

The Rose had a bad game yesterday when they were unable to beat a
Bonnyrigg(ex lithgy rose)Rose team in the league. This result makes it
very hard to have any real chance of catching Fauldhouse who are on the
same number of games played.

As you can see from the table the best placed to mount any sort of
challenge to Fauldhouse are Whitburn and Newtongrange. And with
Fauldhouse now paying the penalty for having a dirty team with
loads of suspensions so I hope they keep getting beat. Well one
of Bathgates only two wins was a 5 - 2 defeat of fauldhouse at
fauldhouse so they're not doing so well at the moment.

The Rose had a wee win today against Bonnybridge in some cup competion
which should keep them in a good mood for a few days. This follows a
6 - 2 win in a friendly against Pollock so they must be on a winning
streak and maybe they'll go for three in a row on sat.

As Fauldhouse United don't have a note of their own (And probably don't
deserve one, eh Davros !), I'll just have to content myself by adding
their results in here & making the Rosey boy jealous.
Faw-De-Da scored a resounding 7-0 win over Lochgelly (Who ?) in the
Charlie Bain Cup yesterday. All this & still top of the league.

that Whitburn are going to be more off a challenge than Faw dee da

| Match report from the Rangers reserves vs Partick Thistle reserves.

This match was played last Wednesday at the Rose ground, Sidney (SQF
JAMBO) and myself decided to attend this star studded game, There was
a crowd of about 700 at the game and you could have heard a pin drop
around the ground, But alas all you could hear was Sidney and myself
slagging the players ie "Nizzy ya big Useless No2" etc. Ian Durant
was playing like a "Bo'ness United Player" and who the rest of the
players were God only knows. To cut a long story short , The game was
Kack so we left 10 Min's before the First half and got Blootered in
the Lithgy rose Club.
P.S The score was 1-1

On saturday the Rose are at home to Whitburn in a league match, the
previous match between them saw a score of 6 - 4 to whitburn and 6
players booked as well as two sent off. Both teams had a player
taken to hospital one a broken leg(Rose player) the other a head injury
just a quiet sort of game really. So it might be a good game to see
this time round.
Obiviously the Rose have no league title aspirations
this year but Whitburn will still have an outside chance.

The magic team played camelon(spelling) on sat and came off with the
result they needed but they didn't deserve it as they spent the whole
of the second half in there own half. But Camelon missed a penalty
a dubious one I might add but you have to take them when you get them.
So lithgy are through to there first final of the season don't know who
they will be playing or when as I don't think there opponents have
passed the quarter final stage yet.

As I,ve been away I have been able to miss the great Rose displays
against Newtongrange and Bonnyrigg ( 6-1 & 5-2 rose have the low
numbers). But they did manage to draw with Armadale on tuesday night
with three trialists playing. One defender 1 midfield and 1 striker.
The defender slipped up to give the dale there goals apparently and the
striker scored the 2 goals and missed a couple more and the midfielder
was apparently outstanding. As with there normal effiency there names
were not mentioned in the paper (Gazette). On sat the Rose play
Fauldyhoose in a cup final and next sat they play Bonnyrigg in another
one so maybe they'll have a trophy or two to show for a season which
showed a lot a promise but as usual gave us not a lot to cheer about.

Well the Rose managed a 2-0 win over newly crowned league champions
Fauldhouse to take the Alloa Brewery cup [East of scotland cup] back
to Prestonfield. So the season hasn't been totally wasted after all,
next Sat its the Peter Craigie Memorial trophy thats at stake but the
Rose will need to improve on the last meeting against Bonnyrigg if they
are to collect there second and last trophy for this season.
Hard luck Fauldhouse better luck in the Fife and Lothians cup.

I already said the trialist scored the two goals against Armadale,
but the best player on display was the trialist playing in midfield
but whether he'll play next season for the Rose is anybody's guess.
Probably be like some of Bo'nesses trialists , will play as a
trialist any time but won't sign for the club. This appears to be
a favorite passtime of some amateur league players.

The Rose have signed Watty Boyd that twinkle toed ex BU hacker who's only
a wee lad at 36yrs.
Recent accomplishments include breaking the laddie Malone's leg in a
end of season game for Arbroath against Berwick. But he didnae mean
it really ????.
So I see the rose are thinking ahead to nice friendly games with the
Bo'nessers next season.

The Junior season starts on saturday for the East teams , The Rose
are at home to Harthill Royal in the league cup so they'll be wanting
a repeat of last seasons result with the Rose winning comfortably.
On the other side of the flints Bo'ness are at home to Camelon I
believe, which is there bogey team in cup competions so they will
probably lose. Hopefully by a lot. Not that I'm biased much.

Well the Rose were playing Bo'ness today and they came away with
the points as usual.

This to me was a bit of a surprise as the Rose had a problem with
Halcrow as they only striker in the Rose squad not injured so I
expected a no score draw as Bo'ness are not playing very well either
at the moment. But by the score you can see that Cowans has played
his second game whilst being injured. I was not at the game due to
being dossing in my kip but the reports I've heard so far make it
out to a well deserved win.
No doubt the ness suporters will disagree with this.

| Not this time Gordon,the Bu's played there worst football of the season
so far,IMHO none of these teams (and I use the word "TEAM" loosely)will
win anything this season,well maybe a corner or two....
Now to the game,this was a dull boring game that was no interest to
the 10,102 who bothered to turn up.The rose scored in about the 4th
minute after a terrible defensive mix-up.
The Bu's replied 2 minutes later with a penalty.
Half time 1-1
The second half was not much better,the only bright spot was the roses
2nd goal.It was a well worked couple of passess that led to the
goal,Todd collect the ball about 20yds from the goal,he was about the
corner of the penalty box he either tried to cross it or shot at goal
either way the ball ended up in the back of the net..(It looked
good)and so did the goal ??
Then Cowan scored with a header from 2� inches,Cowan is the big money
buy,he even hobbled on to the park at the start of the game,never
really moved outside the semi-circle yet he still mmanaged to get on
the scoresheet !!!!
Its going to be a long hard season if there are many more performances
like this one.
The blackest point of the day was having to give "its WAT OOT THERE"
McCall and "IF YE SPIT OAN MI I"LL KILL YE" Rooney there 2 quid.
Davy I'll get ma money back when the loonies fi the concrete jungle

I think even fauldhouse would want a 7-0 win against a wee team than
any defeat in the scottish.
Mind you fauldhouse are usually good for a game so either they were
total crap (I don't think so) or downfield has just served notice of
there intentions for the cup.
I for one hope the rose are not drawn against them.
hope bo'ness are though......
P.s Preston got rid of nearly all there players at the end of last
season so now most of the team are having there first season in the
junior ranks- most coming from the amateur leagues. And they are
playing either really well or really bad due to mainly there
inexpereince.

due to the Scottish junior team playing Ireland at the Bo'ness ground
on saturday.
No league games are being played on sat so that they get a good crowd
which is apparently the normal procedure.

Awright I`m gonna take the bait,Livingston had two players in the
East region team to Linlithgows one.That dangerous wee git,Hayton
of Fauldhouse,scored the Easts' goal when he took advantage of a
bad pass back and rounded the keeper superbly.
Unfortunately for Livvy,our goalkeeper Hogarth has been called up
to Hearts reserves for the Edinburgh derby.This leaves us with a
problem for Saturday as we`ll have to ask our other goalie to
play even though we were trying to get rid of him.
Never mind we`ll still win........

Last season the Rose were a poor side that did not play very well for
most of the season, but so far this season the Rose are starting to get
there act together and are starting to look a very good side.
Last season Livvy were unable to beat the Rose so they will have even
less chance of doing to tomorrow.
Hopefully the Rose will not play Cowans but play Blues instead as he
is more likely to score and is very quick. whereas cowans is a donkey.

Going back to last season,it`s true Livvy didn`t beat Linlithgow
but we drew 4-4 and 2-2,so there`s not much in it.The advantage
we have is that Linlithgow think they just have to turn up.....

Linlithgow Rose beat Livingston 5-0 and auld peg leg Cowan got three.
On a personal note I had a mare as I was supposed to be marking Cowan,
and the three kicks he got ended up in the net.
It could have been different if Livingston had taken their early
chances but Cowan opened the scoring right on half time and the
goal inspired Linlithgow.Livvy had a man sent off for catching the
ball and the Linlithgow sweeper scored from the resultant penalty.
Alan Fowler added the fifth in stoppage time after a mix up in the
Livvy defence.
So disaster for Livvy and auld peg leg tried to console me by saying
"There was never 5 goals in it",I nearly hit him......

Thats what I like to see ** a win for the Rose** as there not too
many last season.
I did hear that Kelly the Rose goally had a bad start to the Livvy game
and was lucky not to concede 2 goals in the first 10 minutes, but thats
the way it goes.
Next Saturday the Rose are at home to fauldhouse in the league cup
which going by the fauldhouse recent form should be a daudle.
But before that all you rangers fans can see the reserves up against
morton on thursday night at linlithgow.
And on the 13th the rose are at home to the mighty lugar in the

The Rose played there long awaited match against Fauldhouse on Sat
the game ended in a 0-0 with the Rose playing most of the second half
with 10 men after Kearney was sent off for a second bookable offence.
The Rose had the best chance in the game with Todd getting clean
through but electing to try and beat the keeper instead of playing it
to Cowans who was totally unmarked. Fauldhouse never troubled the rose
keeper at any time during the game and appart from the Todd effort the
fauldhouse keeper could have went for a pint with the lithgy one.
Not a very entertaining game really so both teams will be hoping for a
better effort on the return, although when that is is anybody's guess.
This saturday the Rose will be hoping to beat Irvine Meadow for the
first time and no doubt there will be a good crowd as Irvine have been
playing well and will fancy there chances. The Rose have also
started to get there act together and I think they could go through but
not if it goes to a replay.

Scottish Cup 3rd rd

Contary to the score-line this was one of the better junior games I've
seen recently. Both teams had chances to win the game although I would
say(being a Rose susporter) that the Rose finished the stronger team,
and will be looking forward to the replay next week. Both teams hit the
woodwork but the best chance fell to Blues of the Rose as he took the
ball from his own half through the Meadow defence into the box but
unfortunately the ball came off the post with the keeper beaten. This
was with a Meadow player pulling him back all the way. The Meadow
player was booked for this, but I would say the other 4 or 5 of his
team-mates who were also booked during the game did not really deserve
it as it was not a dirty game.
I'll be looking forward the the replay anyway.

Scottish Cup 3rd Rd replay

When I arrived at the match the Rose were taking the ball out of there
own net, luckily the meadow had fouled the keeper and it was chalked
off. It must have been a correct decision as none of the meadow players
protested about it.
That was about the 20min mark and the meadow were determined to dump
the Rose out of the cup asap. They tried just about everything to score
but in the end there best efforts came from long range and only one
gave the keeper any trouble as he had to touch it over the bar. The
Rose goal came after a run up the right wing and a cross over by Todd
to Cowans but as usual he didn't move and Flowler planted it in the
back of the net. Some idiots were shouting ooh aah co ba ra (this was
the cowans fan-club) at the start of the game but by the time Cowans
was taken off the chants were ooh aah cobra off as he as usual put in
no effort and was totally scared of Ashcroft the Meadow number 5. When
Halcrow came on for cowans it meant that Blues had a decent partner up
front and the Meadow were starting to get run ragged at the back the
result was that Ashcroft took Halcrow right out the game when he was
clean through and got sent off. Halcrow then had an effort tipped over
the bar by a very good save by the meadow keeper with about 2mins to go
and the game finished with the Rose on the attack.
The game was not as good as the first one and over-all I would say that
Irvine meadow deserved at least a draw if not a win. But the Rose have
only conceded 1 goal in the last 2 months so it was as no surprise that
there best player was McKeeman.
Hopefully we'll get a nice east draw in the next round. I would have
said Auchinleck or may-be Cummnock but I don't think they made it this
year.

On sat the Rose kept up the run with a 2-1 overtime victory against
Fauldhouse in the league cup semi, they now wait for a date to play
Camleon who beat Haddington 2-0 in the other semi.
Scottish cup draw is on the 9th Jan by the way.
Monday 27th should see the Rose at home the Bo'ness in a league match
although this has still to be finalised by the jfa, both the rose and
ness want the game to go ahead then.

Livingston only had 11 fit and available players against the Rose
on Saturday so had no one on the bench.Yardley,(wanted by the Rose),
was suspended as was Smythe.Myles Hogarth was called up by Hearts
again so we had to field another goalie....
Livingston beat Kirrie two seasons ago 5-2 away from home so the
Rose should have no problems.
Conditions were terrible on Saturday and the park was harder than
a goats face,but with the Scottish coming up Colin Sinclair was
desperate to get the game on.He even offered to play us under the
lights on Wednesday if it had been called off on Saturday.

Well thats 18 games unbeaten and 2 points for the rose..
A hard game but well won by the rose although the ness had there
chances to score.
The first goal came from a indirect free kick after Malloy passed back
to the keeper and he picked it up. The free-kick was taken and after a
attempt or 2 the ball broke to Wilson who put it in from about six
yards, the second was from a penalty after the ness goally pulled down
Halcrow in the box. Halcrow had put the ball passed the keeper and he
had no option but to pull him down. But I don't think Halcrow who have
managed to reach the ball anyway had he got passed but the goally
wasn't to know that.
I guess that just about finishes the ness season for them as they don't
have any realistic chance in the league now.
On Tuesday the draw for the next round of the Scottish is held in
glasgow, and on Tuesday night the Rose are back on league business at
home to Edinburgh Utd.

we lost.No seriously I was on my way to the "Big Game" when I was

I awoke to find myself in a strange place called the Football and
Cricketer's after being forced( at knife point ) do drink 8 pints of
foaming ale we proceeded to the Crown Inn to watch the rugby.That was
torture.By this point I was kicking my heels and sreaming to get out
and go to thee game.
I was forced again at knife point to go to the West port hotel where I
was held hostage for a further 3 hours.I was finally let loose at
18:30 and was dumped from a speeding car outside ma hoose.

Well the time has finally arrived for the League Cup final to be
played.
Linlithgow Rose v Camelon
Brockville kick-off at 3:00pm.
Result Rose 2 Camelon 0 or is this a prediction.
Linlithgow Rose 19 games since there last defeat and still in all cup
competitions.
Camelon 1 defeat so far this season when they lost on penalties in the
scottish cup to Tayport.
Looks like it could be a very good game but we'll just have to wait and
see, Camelon have not won anything for 19yrs whilst the Rose have won
the league cup 3 times in the last 5 years.

Well right score but the wrong way round........
Linlithgow Rose..0 Camelon....2
I was a bit disappointed with the result but Camelon were the team that
was trying to win the game so deserved there victory.
The Rose started the game with a 4-3-3 line up for the first time this
season and the midfield looked like they didn't know what they were
susposed to be doing. Also they played there new signing Flynn from the
start and although for me he was the best Rose player on the park there
was a lack of comunication between the front three as both Halcrow and
blues tended to play wide so while Flynn was setting up chances for the
other two they were to far away to make use of them. May-be Cowans
would have been better alongside Flynn but he wasn't on the bench.
Both the goals came from mistakes in the Rose defence and were well
taken in the end.
next saturday the Rose are at home to glasgow perthshire in the
scottish so hopefully both Blues and Halcrow will have learned from
there first game with Flynn and they'll all get there act together.
Although I said Cowans would have played better with Flynn I still
wouldn't like to see him play. Rumour is he trying to get a transfer
away anyway.
I got up early after the night-shift to watch the game so to say I was
a bit p***** off is about right. More with the Rose display than the
final result....

The result was all that matters for Rose fans as the game itself was
pretty garbage with the Rose showing how to play bad and still win.
Perthshire deserved to win as they tried to win the game whereas the
Rose seemed content to doddle arround the park. It's just as well it
wasn't a decent team they were playing as they would have been hamered
otherwise.
At least the Rose have got a game on Wednesday to start to get there
act together before the � finals are played.

The Rose are drawn at home to either Shotts or Arthurlie in the
quarter finals, this will be played in two weeks time as the SvA replay
won't take place until the 18th march due to the Shotts goalkeeper
being called to play for the Junior Scotland team that Sunday.
Home draw so it should be a good crowd.
On Wednesday night the Rose beat Bonnybridge 4 - 0 after a good
display, the only fault was that they didn't get more goals as they
created enough chances. On a plus the rose had Brickmore back in the
team and he got two of the goals .

So it's bye bye Rose, the stick i've took at the darts in the Luthgi
league this year is nothin' to what they will get noo........
The Rose also had a player sent off quite early doors so that's all
you need to say about the result...Arthurlie must have been all over

So the Rose are out the cup for another year, but at least they put up
a resonable display which considering the games of the past 2 months is
something of an achievement.
What can i say about the game appart from we got beat and it seems that
whenever we play Arthurlie we get a player sent off before the scoring
starts.
The semis where drawn today and Arthurlie play Glenafton on the 22nd
April at Love street, and Kil????. plat Largs at somerset park on the
16th.
I reckon it'll be a Arthurlie v Largs final this year.
By the way how did the mighty ness get on , wis it the same result as
lithgy then.

super duper davie cooper pitch at prestonfield, home of the ever so
great terrific brillant lithgie rose. Then it stands to reason that
the best ever team will have to play all there games at prestonfield.
Thats why bo'ness never play there.
And the rose have played away once this season and won 5-0 so thats

I don't believe Whitburn are top of the league, in fact arn't
Camelon 2 points above them...
I haven't been in the notes because i've been quiet and not very
quite as you put it.
I didn't expect Livingston to be able to beat whitburn so the cup
final will give the Rose a chance for revenge for their totally
dismal display the last time the two teams met.

Well the big day is almost here.......
The first ever meeting between Linlithgow Rose and Bo'ness Utd in the
scottish cup.
Bo'ness are appartently favorites to win, which suits me as the last
time they were favorites the Rose humped them 5-0.

This game was totally dominated by the urinal "utter p##h".
Bo'ness did not really have any chances and there goal was a result of
a mistake by Wilcox(playing 1st game this season).
The Rose did creat a couple of chances , two headers went past the post
when they should really have scored, and the ness goally had a really
good save about 10mins from the end.
The Rose goal was from a free_kick out on the left which was fired by
a slow gun into the right bottom corner with the goally just standing
there. Bu's fans are claiming it was a indirect free kick and that it
touched nobody but they would say that. I totally unbiased as i am say
not a lot as i missed the tackle and only saw the ball going in the
net. But the ref was right there and it was okay by him.
The ref was murder as he had booked 5 players by the 20th minute and by
the end of the game three had been sent off(only 1 rose player deserved
it in my opinion) and just about everybody had been booked. But i think
he missed the pie wifey.
It was not a dirty game just garbage. Hopefully both teams can put on a
better performance next week in the replay.
P.S. The League Cup final will be played on New years eve at Newton
heap.

| I agree with most of the comments in the previous note,although it
was a pretty poor show from both sides I thought that lithca were
a lot worse than Boness.
This was probably the best chance the Bu's had of overturning our
poor cousins from the south.
The 3 sendings off were pretty harsh except for the attempted murder
om the Bu's left back.
The goals,well,what can you say the 1st goal was well taken by "Dode
allison" one up with 10 minutes to go I thought it was over as the rose
hadnt been out of there � since the before the interval.
But the Bu's certainly surpassed themselves on this occasion,an
INDIRECT free kick is awarded 35 yards out,some lithca scroat boots it
towards the goal,nobody touches the ball (as the defence were all
watching there men and nobody was watching the ball) next thing its in
the net.
1-1 and a replay next saturday at paradise.Now I know how Tommy Burns
feels,most of the chances all of the play and sod all to show for it.
There was a good crowd,around 2000+ and at 2 quid a go both committees
were certainly smiling.
Late news just in..............
The Bu's will be sunning themselves in Grangemouth next week before
flying back to tackle the rose...............

| Here's my thoughts on the game against they jammy,lucky bums from over
the hill.
The game was played on whaty can only be descibed as the "wattest day
this year"
The park looked no to bad but soon it was cutting up very badly.I
couldnt take my usual seat in the stand because it was full of those
cravat wearing bums from toytown.
The game started with the Bu's kicking with a strong westerly gale
behind them.There were a few shots on goal but the goalkeeper came the
closest to opening the scoring in a half which saw the Bu's camped in
the rose half.
Although we were camped in there � we never scored,I thought the
writing was on the wall after a goalless first �.
How wrong could I bee,about 2 mins into the 2nd half the rose were
awarded a very soft free kick aboiut 35 yards out.
The rose no7 executed what in my opinion was a wonderful strike right
into the top corner of the net.(It was a cracking goal)
Once again I thought that that was that,but to my amazement the Bu's
fought back hard and had the rose pinned in there own �.The Bu's came
close on a few occasions but it was 25 ninutes before the end that we
drew level,a well worked 1-2 between Sludden and Burns,Burns crossed
for man "Dode Allison" to smash an unstoppable shot passed that excuse
of a goal keeper Charlie Kelly.
Near the end Mark White mad one of those famous darting runs past most
of the rose team,he turned on a sixpence that somebody dropped in 1963
and hit a thundering shot which smashed of kelly's bar with him
floundering like a wee fish.
Final Score 1-1
Extra time,the first period was a typical cup tie between the Bu's and
the rose,we had them pinned to the wall.
Extra time was almost at an end when the Bu's were awraded a
penalty,"Hogan" stepped forward and unleashed an unstoppable shot high
into the roof of the net.
The park was then invaded by the local hooligans.TIME WAS UP.
All that was required was the ball to be booted out the park,no the
Bu's kamakazi defence did it again,the rose were awarded a corner,the
corner was whipped over aimlessly and it bounced of someones head and
into the back of the net.
2-2 after Extra time.
Needless to say the Lucky team from over the hill won the penalty shoot
out.Sludden missed the 1st of the Bu's penalties,there was no way back.
Were out of the Scottish cup for another year,there were a lot of
factors to take into account in this defeat,but at the end of the day
we didnt have the LUCK.

These bums must be worth a bet now because thats twice they've
won games that they never looked like winning.They were outplayed
and outclassed for 210 minutes and are still in the cup.??
The draw takes place today in Davie Roy's kitchen at 1pm,needless
to say the "Bums from Toytown" will get yet another home draw.

Cup......I could be wrong. According to the Daily Rangers
sister paper that was the only scores in the cup......does that

Well yet again its Scottish Cup time for the Juniors and i'll be off
to the local game.
Linlithgow Rose v Whitburn Juniors.
Hopefully the Rose will get rid of whitburn at the first attempt and
get into the hat okay.
I still fancy Camelon to lift the Cup, the rose are doing okay but i
can't see them reaching the semi-final stages unless a minor miracle
happens.

Well on saturday the last league derby of this season was held at
yon bo'ness heap, and the score was 0-0.
This was no surprise as the Rose had been notified by the sjfa that
if they beat bo'ness again then they would have to keep them as its
been years since bo'ness last beat the Rose.
This was a major problem as none of the Rose fans/commitie or players
wanted the dross from over the hill at prestonfield. So a compromise
was reached were the Rose would keep the game at 0-0 so as not to be
accused of laying down and letting the dross win.
