a staggering 3 times (1954,1976,1984) and lost in the final on an other
occasion (1977 we were going for two in a row).
We have a wonderful all seater stadium ( a big banking ) that holds
about 200 and is usually empty every week,we even have flood lights
( stolen from the pit when it shut doon ) its quite difficult to see
the ball when it goes in the corners. The reason I know this is that
I've been priveledged(sp) enough to play on the "Hallowed Turf".

time. Bo'ness were senior before the second world war, not many junior
teams can say that, and then going junior after. As Davie pointed out
they have quite a young team for a junior side, about 29 8*). Still
when they get older they can always go over the hill and play for the
Rose 'cause they're over the hill anyway !!!!!

| Here is a match report off the Boness United v's Bonnyrigg.
Sat 21st November. Newtown Park stadium.
It was a dark and dismal day as the "Dream Team" trooped out onto the
hallowed turf. There play wasnt much better than the weather, the first
ten minutes were all about trying to keep your feet and suss out the
opposition.
After a few promising attack's ( this was in the stand ) we returned to
watch the football, the "dream team" were still rather subdued until at
last the deadlock was broken ( and we were into the car ) it was
tremendous piece of ( cake ) finishing by "Burns",he collected the ball
a full 2 feet from goal, somehow rounding the keeper and nearly ripping
the net off the stantion.
The second goal was a well worked move consisting of every player in the
team included in the build up before "Dalton" smashed home a vicious
drive from 50 yards.
The third goal was scored by that man "Dalton" it was pretty crap so I
wont write about it.
By this time the fans had been whipped up into a frenzy( by a friendly
lady at the back of the stand )we were baying for more goals and didnt
have to wait too long and once again it was that man "Dalton" he saved
the best for last,he had just saved a penalty at the other end,he
jinked and weaved past eight men and an old car,he only had three
players to beat,he flew by two defenders nutmeged the third he was thru
the crowd were going berserk,he ran towards the advancing goalie just
as he reached him he flicked the ball up in the air over the keeper and
caught it on his neck and walked calmly into the net after he had been
untangled from the net he celebrated his goal in his usual way.
Two pints off lager and a packet of cheese and onoin crisps.
That was it the game was sewn up but Boness being Boness we did
something really sensible, take the best player off the park.....
After "Dalto" left the park we fell too pieces,he hadnt even filled up
the bath when the inevitable happened we lost a goal.
We squandered ar least another 245 chances and should've scored a goal
but alas we had to settle for a 4-1 victory, that puts us into 2nd place
in the league,1 point behind faw dee da and 1 in front of those Bums
from toytown over the hill.......
Sinclair and Masterton watch out cause were a "comin"
Dav "Mcpherson"..

RE:.15
Davie,
I cannot believe that you of all people have forgotten about the
greatest player Boneyuks, nay,Central Region, has ever produced.
I am of course referring to a player, who on a good day, could be compared
to the great George Best.(When it comes to bevvying that is).
Yes,that's right,Willie Temps.
Who will ever forget that glorious day, sometime back in the 1970's,
at Hampden Park,i think, when Temps got the ball beat the whole Darvel
team,(aren't they yet another of those many inferior Ayrshire mobs that
the mighty BU's have gubbed in their quest for martyrdom),dribbled
round the goalie, not once but twice, stopped to have a drink of his
cairry-oot,before dispatching the ball into those famous nets in front
of a jam-packed and frenzied Rangers end,or was it the Celtic end?
Sadly, this turned out to be the last big occassion in which Temps was
to show the world his undoubted class,(with the exception of the
Fison's v British Legion derby of course),as his career took a
nosedive when he made the decision to seek pastures new after a wage
dispute with the club's manager Willie "Tiger" Mitchell.Despite
Mitchell offering Temps a quite considerable signing on fee of "all he
could drink in Newtown Bar on a Sunday dinnertime".Which as you will
know, was a club record signing on fee,Temps elected for the more secure
offer from Celtic of 2 per week,(also a club record at that time).
Then just when we thought his career couldn't get much worse,he left to join
HIBS.
PS.Bo'ness also produced a guy you should remember Sal.........
Bobby Masterton.
PPS.Was it not BONNYBRIDGE and not Bonnyrigg that the Central Regional
Giants gubbed yesterday Davie?
Iain.
(Who wasn't born in Boneyuks, but went to Secondary school there, which
accounts for where i am in life today).

Whilst reminissing(sp),about the great Temps,i was wondering if anyone
could enter facts and figures "Cunno style" about the most gifted
player ever,to grace Newtown(Bar).
Here are some career details that i can remember.
Joined Celtic from school and was farmed out to the BU's(as Celtic did
then with all their gifted players.Well they did it with Dalglish
anyway).Rejoined Celtic after a truly marvellous season in the Junior
ranks, which culminated in him winning the greatest honour known to
footballers,(the Journal player of the year).
After three seasons and many, many pints,he left Celtic to join Hibs
where he formed an unrememberal partnership(for both of them),with the great
Georgie Best. After Hibs he joined some Scandanavian mob,but it wasn't
long before he was back to his beloved Newtown Park(Bar),where
unfortunately,as many others have found, returning to a club where you
had once been so successful trying to rekindle old glories, was not the
best possible career move.
He left Newtown under a cloud and signed for Fisons, where he
experienced the delight of playing with a Sunday morning hangover,(as
opposed to a Saturday afternoon one...Ed).After leaving Fison's,well
i'm sorry to say,he went downhill,(to the Redcroft,Viewforth,Clydesdale
etc,etc usually).
Where is he now.Well i'm sorry to say he has now left this
world......
and gone to coach/manage/play for Pumpherston Juniors.

Davros McFisty,
Rumour has it that Mark Hughes will lose his place at Old Trafford to
Eric `Frogs legs' Cantona !
This being the case, BU's manager, Roy Rogers, is preparing a bid of
two haggis suppers & 14p in old money for his services.
Rogers says,"Mark should fit in well here at the Wet Dream Team. His
long hair style should fit in well with all the supporters, who also
sport long hair (and flares,Bay City Roller jumpers & Slade socks)
This signing could spell the end for Bo'ness striker Hughie McGonigle.
He's rumoured to be heading for fauldhouse along with the last decent
thing to leave the Ness.......

1 - 0. Pollock had signed 22 players at the start of the season to make
a serious attempt at winning the cup this year, but footballs a funny
old game.
As a wee footnote Luthgi' Rose got hammered 2 - 0 by E'burgh Utd and
bite the dust once more after the bookies had them as one of the

| Well troops,
Here is the much awaited match report..........WE WON WE WON WE WON,
no seriously the "dream team" should have been dead and buried by half
time, the pollock supporters were treated to some good football for a
change (by the dream team)there left winger should've been on a
hat-rick after about 25 mins,he was clean thru on "Big Gav" three times
but the goalie stood his ground and thrawar thaw tha saved well three
times.
Things were looking bleak at half time ( the wife in the canteen had
forgotten to switch the oven on and the pies were cold )The second 45
started at a furious pace with the dream team starting to edge there
way back into the match ( they were actually kicking the ball now )
after about 5 seconds of intricate play on the left we won a throw
in...the crowd were starting to look interested in the game, there was
some sort off confusion in the pollock goal mouth (otherwords there
keeper dropped a clanger )and the ball,I only blinked for a second and
Yes I missed the goal......being scored.
After there this there was no looking forward, the pollock team were
camped on our 18 yard line eating sausages and singing stupid songs.
We managed to hold on to our slender lead until the end, when the final
whistle went the whole team left the park with the sound of the "Boness
Fair Song" ringing in their ears.........
In answer to a few questions that have been raised in this topic and
other junior football topics and I quote "I will go and watch Boness
since there still left in the cup" here is my answer "We dont want any
of you lithca scum bags (ayr/killie/edinburgh division) coming over

| Boness v Newtongrange
Boness started the day in second position in the league, unfortunately
there play in the first few minutes didnt merit this position.
Newtongrange have been the league champions on two occasions in the
last few years,so it was a tough game for the Bu's,we were a goal down
after some bad defevsive play, but things were soon to change.About 10
mins later after some brilliant inter passing the "dream team" were
level.Just before half-time we were awarded a penalty, our man mountain
of a defender Andy McLean strode forward seemingly ooooozziiing in
confidence,he placed the ball on the spot took about 236 steps back and
begun his run towards the ball ( I went for a pie )I returned to my seat
just as he was hitting the ball, the ball flew towards the keeper at an
awfy rate, the keeper stood still, stuck up his hands and stopped the
ball. The defense cleared the ball and the keeper shouted for a pail of
ice water to dip his hands in..( ye shouldve seen the steam )
The second half begun quite well for the home team, they had a few
promising attacks ( in the dugooot ) but failed to score. The second
goal was a peach from "Dode" Allison,he sold the defender a shimmy
shammy aboot 20 yards from goal turned and rifled an unstoppable shot
high into the roof of the net.( and the ball went in too )
the home fans were very impressed with "Dodes" contribution to the game
but as usual he turned saint to sinner. It was a bizzare situatuion that
he found himself in,Melville was brought down heavily by some guy in
a nice blue jersey,as melville fell to the ground "guy" had a kick at
him as well as you can imagine "mello" wasnt to chuffed,so he squared
up to him ( as this is the law in Boness ) just before "Mello" got into
him "Dode" sprinted about ten yards dived at "Guy" and stuck the heid
into him. This resulted in "Dode" being asked to leave the field by a
man in a black dress.
The Bu's held on for the last part off the match and extended there
unbeaten run to two.......

271.77 | " Dirty Spazo Hooligans from the concrete jungle" | MASALA::DMILNE | | Sat Dec 19 1992 19:51 | 42 |
| Boness United V Livingston Hooligans.. 19/12/92
The Bu's started this game at a tremendous pace and after some nice play
they found themselves 2-0 after about 20 mins. The rest is all downhill,
they found the net again after about 35 mins,it looked like they would
go in at half time 3-0 up but alas stand in keeper (Noddy) dropped a
clanger....Half time 3-1.
The second half was an even worse performance than the first after
about 20 mins play the bu's replaced two players with carboard cut
oots.Paul crookshanks one of the subs had been on the park for only 5
mins when he tried to slide tackle the Hooligans sweeper, the sweeper
swerved paul and as paul slid bye he hooked the sweeper right on the
chin...( for no apparent reason )this of course meant that he had to
fill up the bath for the rest of the boys.
Reduced to ten men we struggled on for a few seconds then they were at
it again,Wilcox the boness midfield maestro took the sweeper right out
of the game,it was a vicious tackle, his name and phone number went in
the refs wee book.Wilcox ran back towards the penalty area, when the
sweeper got up on his feet he ran staight towards wilcox and squared up
too him,Wilcox did what any self respecting boness man does when
threatened... yes he spat on him....( This was a pretty bad thing too
do but it was funny )the sweeper didnt see the funny side off it
though and he punched wilcox about the ears ( six rapid ).
This led to a rather nasty scene in the penalty area, after the comotion
had settled down wilcox and the sweeper were sent to help paul fill up
the bath.
But as the players were leaving the field the Hooligans manager grabbed
wilcox and tried to punch him this led to terrible scenes of violence
on the trackside.Ten minutes later and after the manager had been
escorted from the ground the game restarted, the hooligans managed to
score again before full time but th bu's held on to collect another two
crucial points in the league campaign.
Final score Bu's 3 V Spazos 2.
I think that the rose had a lot to do with this considering we have
lost 2 key players for next sundays "Live on Sky" derby. And the two
players will miss out on the Scottish cup tie on the 7th of January.
But it goes to show that even when we play crap and are reduced to 9
men we can still WIN.

understrength for to-morrows "Live on Sky" derby. The Bu's will be
without there star goalkeeper "Gavin (The Pussy) Kirkwood" he suffered
a broken nose and 8 stitches during last thursdays training session.
Three other key players will also be out ( just for the week-end
though) through injury.I will have to take the Bu's to stuff this
motley crew from over the hill as we have only lost once this season on
the hallowed turf....
I predict 1 sending off,8 bookings and a huge fight in the stand.....
The Bu's will win by the odd goal in eight.....

Methinks it was Grangemouth stadium you passed, which is up the Inchyra
Road and is used for athletics. It also has a footie park. Grangemouth
does not have a junior team and Bo'ness is a completely(sp) different
town. A season ticket works out at around a tenner, so I think your
budget will stretch to that......Newtown Park is one of the few junior
teams in Scotland with a STAND and FLOODLIGHTS and a WALL all round the
ground (most have a clothes line tied round four posts i.e. the
ayrshire teams) We also have two pubs and a chippie within walking
distance and you can be there and back before the second half

gents, here we have a so called supporter of B.U. and he does'nt
even know who they beat in the last round of the Scottish (before the
Beith game) He says they beat Cumnock, but that is not strictly true
son coz Cumnock are still in the cup (worste luck). If the author of
.91 wishes to write a lot of dross may I suggest he tries the Celtic
conference, he will be in good company there.
B.U. beat Pollok in round 2 of the Scottish, you should have asked Davy
Milne coz he wiz there.

re .90 & .97
Well well......somebody trying to slag the mighty Bo'ness.....is Beith
your home town Ron, if not you should keep quiet. Glenafton do not have
much of a record in the " Scottish". We have done quite well against
Ayrshire teams in the cup, so if the likes of the black and white
Cumnock shirts (scalps) were hanging round Newtown Park we wouldn't see
the game. We also just beat POLLOCK (facts from the Rowan book of records)
in the last round before we were pipped by Beith.
We've also won the cup more times than Luthgy Rose as
well......(had to mention the Rose in this note...eh).
Good to see an interest in the mighty BU's.....

re .120
All results were from "The Pink", So the bit about the penalties would
not have been in. Anyway, a 2-2 draw with a 'B' division team and only
going through 5-4 on penalties is not something to shout about.
Bo'ness' meldrum is in the U23 squad to play Berwick Rangers. He has
been signed by a senior team but I don't know who. These games are
also used as Scotland trials.

Colin,
Who is this Victor Meldrum or whatever his name is, then? What
position does he play (used very loosely)? Having witnessed the on
field (in)capabilities of Bo'ness twice this season, I cannot recall
any player who would have been selected for an over 70's select team,
let alone any sort of Scottish trial match. Best-looking-team-caught-in-
a-time-warp might be more appropriate. I thought it was a joke
when people spoke about flares, platform shoes and Birmingham bags
being all the rage in the 'Ness until I attended the game. The Bo'ness
wave really is something else, too. I thought the (three) fans were
going to do a mexican style one, but as I found out it's the new hairdo
(specially constructed by their very own Senga McSherry) sported by
players and fans alike.
Also, I drank three pints in the Newtown bar without getting my
head stoved in, do I win a prize?

John,
if you read your local rag i.e.'The Gazette', instead of heading
home of a weekend, you would be up to date with all the local news
concerning 'The Blue Milan'.
'The Pink', that's the east equvalent of the 'Greenock Green', the
saturday evening results paper is over on the 'etch' table with the
relevent facts.
Also I don't think running up the wing with 'flares' and pink polka
dot 'platforms' goes on at Newtown, that sounds more like the 'Rosey
Posey' lads (lasses).
Don't know about the mexican wave but after the local chinkie on a
saturday night you get the 'chinkie wave' as you fan your butt to get
the flames out !!!!!!
Oh, and concerning Davs note, I don't think there is a 'barman' that
would let you qualify.

That player meldrum has been signed by Raith rovers I think and he's
apparently quite a good player so what he's doing at bo'ness I don't
know.
Harthill although in div B they couldn't be in div A as this is there
first season as a junior team. The Rose have played them four times
this season and the results to date are 4-0 1-0 1-0 2-2 (5-4penalties).
as you can see the games have got tighter as the season has gone on.
Harthill are currently top of div B and have lost very few games so
far. The 4-0 game was the Rose's first game of the season by the way.
So they will be a hard team to beat next season when(not if) they gain
promotion. They also had players in the select team.

A wee report from last nights spectacular from the Ness stadia.
Boness fielded about 9 trialists and two regulars and believe me they
were regular (if you know what I mean) s*it# for the stupid rose fan
who notes in this topic.
They were 0-2 down at half time and were 0-4 down with about 10 mins to
go (this is when I made my exit).
There's not alot you could write about this farce except that leg o
beef played there strongest team.
Thing's got a little heated in the second half and the tackling was a
little tough to say the least, this got the massive crowd ( 19 )
interested.
The only good thing to come out of the night was the rumour that the
"Chinkies" had been sold and was being turned into a massage parlour.
This was enough to start "THEE" wave.

There appears to be a few really good players in the sunday leagues

I take it last nights game was just a run-about match and not anything

As you are the president of the local "KYLIE MINOGUE FUN AND FASHION"
fan club, you will be able to obtain flares ana tank top no problem.
As for the blouses you mention, well we don't wear them, we wear chain
mail. You have to in Bo'ness where the avon lady is "THE ALIEN" and the
local posse 'dook' for chips. Be sure to wear inconspicuous clothing,
of course that will be hard with a 'Frank Spencer' stripey tank top, so
we can't point you out to the 'U18's Posse'. If you happen to pop into
the 'Fisons social club' for a wee snifter before the game you will
feel like you are in the Fawdee miners welfare. The smell of dampness
and green mould is overpowering. Or you can pop across the road to The
Newtown and buy the dearest pint this side o' the Flints. After we gub
you, you can make your getaway on the supporters tandem, it'll be a
hard slog up the flints with the sound of defeat ringing in your ears
and irn bru bottles smashing all around you.

squaring up to him ( it was a grand sight )and pretty funny ( thats if
anybody knows what funny is ).
The Fawdoos second goal was an absolute peach, there No 6 hit a free
kick from 25-30 miles oot and it nearly ripped the back off the net.
Excellent Goal.....
Then there was a bit o bother, the Fawdoos no7 ( who incidently is
awaiting court proceedings for breaking a lithgi players jaw ) who had
been fouling the ( pavements ) all day was booked for a really bad
tackle.
Ten minutes later he was at it again and I for one was sorry to see him
go but somebody had to fill up the paddlin pool.
At this stage the SS were all over fawdoos but as usual thing went
wrong for the home side.If I called the fawdoos no11 fat it would be an
understatement,he waddled casually into the penalty area did his dying
duck routine and claimed a penalty. As the fat git sprinted to the crowd
he was laughing, this was a diliberate dive !!!
He even took the penalty and scored. The SS got a late consolition goal
( near the end ) but it was too late as usual.
This will probably mean that Fawdoos will win the league.
Congrat's if they do JJ............

Don't believe the rubbish in the Rose note about not being able to sign
trialists. The way it is Gordon is that the big clubs can get the
signatures. 8*)
The BU's have made three signings for next season. One ah don't know a
thing aboot, one's an ex senior aboot 29 and plyed his trade in the
first and second divs for years and young Mark Wright(?) from
Winchburgh Albion U21's coached by our own Tommy Cannon. He wiz wanted
by Raith Rovers earlier in the season and there was a bit of a tussle
with Bo'ness before he actually signed for them and then they
released him and Bo'ness stepped in again. He plays oot on the wing and
looks quite nippy but will need to build himself up for the rigours of
the junior game.
Well that's aboot it except we finished above the Rose in the league.

| The Bu's took on looney land at Newtown park on saturday, the game
started with a flurry and a pie.
I was shocked to see that we had Tam "Cannie keep his mouth shut" Ward
on the park,Tam is a soccer nomad who has played for over 4000 teams
and never managed to score, this seem to be the reason that we have
signed him as a striker..
Tam lived up to his reputation and was duly sent off after 38 mins, this
sparked the team into action.
At this stage the Bu's were pulling the Livvy back four all over the
place especially "Hello doll hows it gaun Looney" he was definately
being given the run around by a far superior front line.
After about 40 minutes off taunting and teasing Looney they finally let
him kick the ball and what a kick it was.(It was worth the wait)
Half time 0-0
The second half started quite briskly with the Bu's coming close on a
few occcasions and they nearly scored as well.
The Bu's were walking all over livvy but couldnt find the back off the
net, then it happened we were hit with the sucker punch,WE WERE DENIED
ARE SURE FIRE PENALTY.(My colleague will back me up here)
looney sent a terrific ball 90 yards downfield right onto the toe of
the winger who inturn found Yardley unmarked in the box and he placed
it firmly into the gaping goal, the ball however went over the bar and
into Kinneil school.
After much protesting and the kicking off heels the Bu's decided to get
on with the match. There was a gilt edge chance in the last minute when
whit found himself unmarked at the back post,he did everything right,
a good downward header only to see the goalie bring off a world class
save.
Final Score Bu's 0 v Livvy 1.
Star men for Livvy were Alan middleton,Looney and a world class
performance from Hogarth, who I understand is on Hearts books,it
shouldnt be to long before he's replacing Henry Smith.
There was however a bit of sad news from todays match, they ran oot o
pies before I could get one and I lost 2 quid on the result. This result
sees us at the foot off the table with zero points but I'm still
willing to bet that we finish in the top 3.

| As you said in your note the wind spoilt the game slightly.
The Bu's were attacking down wind in the first ,the first interchanges
were nothing special, then the game exploded, the Bu's taking a well
deserved lead thru Mclaren.
Boness continued to miss chance after chance and they knew it would be
a tough 2nd .
Harthill scored on the stroke of time, all square at the interval.
The second started on a brighter note, goal scoring hero Mcclaren
was ordered off for a deliberate foul,as Mcclaren tried to leave the
park there was a frackas and a few of the Harhill committee were
punched and spat on by Mcclaren,Boness's striker Russell Cheape(Good
name for a striker)wasnt even stripped to play but he got his name in
the referee's wee black book for fighting in the dug-oot,this was the
spark to light the fire.
Ten minutes later the ten men Boness outfit took the lead thru a fine
solo effort by White.
Two miutes later Harthill were level, the Bu's were playing some
atractive football and knocking it about well and sometimes even the
ball.
There were about 2 mins left on the giant scoreboard when Dode Allison
set off on a mazy run( he was last spotted crossing the Forth bridge
at 10 past 6 ) he beat 3 defenders and knocked the ball into the
net,the harthill keeper was stretchered off at this point with a Broken
jaw (Sorry ref said Tam Ward)it was some right hook and the ref never
saw it.Dode was still celebrating and was booked,I honestly thought
I was at the wrong game and Dode had scored the winning goal for
scotland in the world cup final,he went mad and was waving to the crowd
doing handstands, cartwheels and hugging and kissing Charlie the
faithful linesman. The game restarted and with it being the last minute
the bu's only had to keep possetion and the 2 points were in the
bag,but in typical fashion they gifted a late equaliser and that was
that so ti speak.
A point dropped rather than a point gained me thinks,Best for Boness
were White,Allison,Ward,Mcclaren and the tea wummin.
Only consilation was that Fawdoos were beaten again and Livvy were
destroyed.

As I was playing I thought I`d give you the match report the way I
saw it.
Two minutes had gone when a high speculative ball was put into the
Livvy goalmouth by a Bo'ness midfielder.Hogarth caught it but also
caught his heid aff the post and dragged the ball over the line.
Tam Ward scored with a bullet header 10 minutes later.
Livvy snatched a goal back when Kirkwood and Wilcox were discussing
where to go for a pint after the game and Bruce nipped in between
them and slotted the ball home in off a post.
Then an amazing thing happened at the start of the second half......
I SCORED.Boness tried to clear a Cowan cross but it came out to me
on the edge of the box and I put it in the postage stamp top corner.
Ward then decided to put his studs into me when the ball was out of
play,(dirty Bo`ness),and was sent off.I was booked for allowing him
to nearly cripple me.
Cowan was then downed in the box by Wilcox and he scored from the spot.
Bo`ness then decided Ward might be lonely in the changing rooms and had
their centre half sent off to join him.
I forgot to mention that Bo`ness hit the post from the centre at the
start of the second half when someone spotted Hogarth of his line.
So we`ve now taken 4 pts off Bo`ness this season and it`s gone a long
way to helping us stay up.Davy Milne will be sick...8*)

I see the football season has drawn to a close with the normal chaos
as teams play 3 or 4 times a week.
The final league game is on Monday where linlithgow rose will play
host to camelon, camelon need to win to take the league title away
fron newtongrange on goal difference. The rose blew there chances
last monday when they were defeated by newtongrange.
This week there has been four cup finals to play.
On tuesday livingston won the Peter craigie cup.
On thursday Bo'ness won the fife and lothians cup.
Friday night saw Camelon beat livingston in another cup final,
and on saturday Bo'ness will play Newtongrange in the last final of

and there is a door leading into the trophy room, and there it was
in pride of place,a glass box containing "Malkys"skid marked shorts.
Seriously though there are photos of the Scottish cup winning side
everywhere and they`ll need to spend spend spend if they want to
emulate that side,Yardley could be their first signing.

| Boness were on league duty today, they are currently bottom of the
league but as all good managers say this position isnt justified
we have been playing some lovely football but unfortunately weve been
getting gubbed every time.
Result.
Bu's Twae V Ormiston Primrose 0.
A good win but were still bottom of the league.
There is a charity match tomorrow at Newtoon park kick off 1.00pm
The game will feature THEE Scottish cup winning side from 1984 versus
the current mob.
I was surprised to hear that the Rose werent holding a similar sort of
game then I remembered one important point, they would probably have to
dig up there cup winning side.......its been a long time boys ???
The Bu's new strike force of Johnny "No another team" Sludden and his
pal have been in devestating form since his 4000 pound move from
Stenhousemuir.
Watch out, watch out Johnny's about will be the new battle cry from now

Normal league story, Bo'ness lose out in all the cups and have played
most of there league games by the end of feb, whereas the Rose are
still playing cup ties(apart from the Scottish that is) and have not
played as many league games as the crappy teams like bo'ness.
come the end of the season we'll finish above bo'ness in the league
as per normal.
Camelon will win the league this year as only Whitburn can catch them
but the fa will do the normal thing and make the more sucessful teams
play 6 or 7 games in 2 weeks and as Camelon have played more games than
anyone they have the points in the bag.
Livingston look good for the drop this year.(pity bo'ness weren't doing
as bad).

Gordon,
What makes you think Livingston will go down,we`ve got 7 points, are
lying bottom and we have an easy run in.....Linlithgow(away),Camelon
(home),Whitburn(away),Ormiston(away),Armadale(away) and Bo`ness(away).
It`s a doddle......not!

Looks like the Rose slipped up in the league this year and let you lot
from over the flints finished a place above them in the league.
But at least this season the Rose managed to win the League Cup and
are in another final on June 13th where they'll play Harthill. They
won't win cos at the moment they're pish.
Whitburn looks like they'll finish runners up in everything this
season as they were humped 4-2 by Fauldhouse last night in the league
so now i believe they're 1 point behind Camelon with 2 games to play,
on thursday they play Camelon at home then on saturday they finish
with there last league game away to the Rose, which will probably
be meaninless.
So not a total waste of a season for the Rose but next season can only
get better.
I've heard that Bo'ness have already started signing players for next
season.
