Tonight the Bairns venture along the road to the McGowans Toffee factory
home of the Warriors of Ochil View also known as Stenhousemuir 0 . Falkirk
should win this "Derby" Cup game quite easily, but then again if Westwater
is in Goals anything could happen, I watched Parks there new Keeper against
his old club West Ham and he looked not bad. Good luck to wee Crunchie with
Hibs and we might see him back at Brockvill next season as he won't want
to be playing for a First Division team when Hibs get relegated now will he.

    Doak (70) Cadette (34) Duffy (61,88)
                     Taggart (75) Shaw (80)

The men from Greenock took a mighty hammering from the Bairns,
Falkirk took the lead in the 34th minute from a corner by McCall
which was slid in by Richard (Bambi) Cadette.
Falkirk's Keeper Parks has an excellent first half and also saved
a penalty by John Fowler just before half time, Duffy put the Bairns
2-0 up in the 61st minute , 9 minutes later Doak scored for Morton
from a header making it 2-1. The final 15 minute's brought 3 cracking
goals from falkirk, Taggart got the 3rd, Shaw lobbed in the 4th then
finaly Duffy fired in a cracking volley.

I know that its unusual for 3 players to get sent off in one game....so
how come I've seen it twice in the last four seasons at the same
    ground!
The last time was against the Jamboes in the league cup while we were
still in the first division, that was mayhem and was down to
retalliation by the Bairns against some cynical tactics by
Hearts. However,Saturdays game was never dirty. Two of the sendings-off
were for handball and the other for retalliation. The way that the guy
reacted to being ordered off(for retalliation)will probably end up with
him being banned for more than the statutory 1 game.
The only bit that worried me about the Falkirk performance apart
from them not putting a barrowload away(remember the Jam Tarts only put
4 past us the last time),was why Jefferies took off Forbes Johnstone
and then pulled Eddie May back.Surely what should have happened was
that Weir should have gone up to partner Duffy with May and Jobby
on either wing with Cadette knocking in the debris.Stirling were hardly
going to be a threat to a three man defence.
178.6Bairns do it againPAKORA::SWRIGHTMon Aug 23 1993 18:0228
Tom McQueen missed a penalty but the opening goal came just minutes after
from a McCall free-kick which was chipped deep into the Albion box and
forced over the line by Neil Duffy. McCall was involved with the second
goal when Richard Cadette blasted the ball into the net from McCall's corner.
Albion managed to keep it tight at the back and settled for 2-0. it should
have been a lot more than just the 2 goals. There was a crowd of just over
4000 at Brockvill to see The Bairns stay at the top of the first division
for another week.

Falkirk 0, Clydebank 4.
With the sun shining over central Scotland on Saturday the 4th
of September there was little TEMPTATION for the 4442 folks to miss
this top of the table encounter between the Bairns and the Bankies.
At 2.55pm the heroes of midweek were met with much applause from the
home crowd. After 20 minutes of attacking football it was a SWEET
LITTLE MYSTERY to the crowd how the Bairns could have put 3 past
the men from Tannadice in midweek. Mr Caddet looked the most
dangerous player and could have scored a goal or two had he A LITTLE
HELP FROM HIS FRIENDS.
Two counter attack goals for the visitors in the first half resulted
in the home team going in at half time WISHING THEY WERE LUCKY.
In the second half the Bankies football really began to flow and
there was no way Mr Parks and co were going to HOLD BACK THE RIVER.
The Bankies attack responded well to this SWEET SURRENDER and rounded
off this game with two well taken goals from the ex Man Utd and
Rangers players. After recent displays like this it is evident that
Mr Flannigan wasn't realeased from Ibrox because of his footballing
abilities. Well this was the first time I've returned from
Brockville without getting WET WET WET but then again its a funny
old game. With their new sponsorship (can't remember the name of
the band) the Bankies have set the pace for Falkirk and Airdrie.

One major conselation to the Brockville faithful is that Steedman's
law states that a team will not be promoted from the 1st division
unless they get a good tanning off the Bankies. St Johnstone did it
(0-4 in 90-91), Dundee dit it (0-3 in 91-92) and Raith enjoyed it
so much they did it twice (0-3 and 1-4 in 92-93). Saturday's result
surely makes Falkirk a good bet for Premier league football next
season.

Falkirk go back up to the top of the First Division after Airdrie gave
The Wet Wet Wet boys a good seeing to, Kevin Drinkell got both of Falkirk's
goals, The first in 27 minutes from a cross from Eddie May which Drinkell
headed in the back of the net, The second came as Cadette juggled the ball
in front of the goal and Drinkell finished it off, Fullarton and Orr were
booked and quite rightly so as they are dirty Paisley.....Roughians..
Just ask any Hearts supporter, There were over 4500 at Brockville yesterday
which seems to be quite a regular attendance figure.

Update on the Bairns fortunes isn't so good. Last Wednesday they
managed to lose to bottom club Clyde in possibly the worst game I've
ever seen. Wimbledon would've looked silky compared to some of that
crap. Clyde snuck the winner with around 15 minutes left.

Saturdays game at Brechin finished goalless and according to reports
was as bad as the previous one.

Still close to the top and I'm sure the Fifers will play the lads back

    (Cadette 2 (Duffield,Campbell

Hamilton went 1 up near the end of the first half with a goal
from Duffield, 6 min's in to the second half Hamilton made it
2-0 with a goal from Campbell, Falkirk look dodgey at this stage
and looked like they were in for a Hammering from the Accies,
This must have been John (Yogi) Hughes unlucky day as he had 2 headers
cleared off the line and another hit the post, It took until the
73 minute before Falkirk got there first goal from Richard Cadette,
Three minutes later Napier scored for the Accies to make it 3-1,
It was looking like it was going to be a Scrubbing for Falkirk.
Minutes later Falkirk were back in the game and once more Cadette
Scored with a header to make it 3-2, It was 4 minutes from the end
that Kevin Drinkell got the Equaliser to claw back a point, Falkirk
have had quite a few shaky games recently and will need to tighten
up at the back as they are conceding too many goals.

Richard Cadette now has 16 goals under his belt this season..

Once again Falkirk dominated play in the first half only to see a DUFFY
strike being countered by a late equaliser from Clydebank.
The second half was more even with Falkirk looking for a winner and
Bankies trying to hit on the break.
The main talking point of the evening was, however,Referee Crombie's
interpretation of the laws.Apparently spending all night kicking lumps
out of small black centre forwards doesn't merit a booking but
complaining because somebody kicks the ball away is......
Ah,well I suppose Crombie will be invited to the SFA Xmas dinner this

we had already amassed enough points to take us to Europe (although

Once again the Bairns were all over the opposition without putting
    the goals in.
Neil Duffy got two;the first a shot that was going wide till the left
back tried to clear it;thesecond a speculative back-header from a Weir

Once again Falkirk were all over inferior opposition only for them to
break-away and score. This left us chasing the game again.
Their goal was down to a powder-puff free kick from Hughes going to
one of their guys who interpassed and scored. Our goal was a great
    header from Hughes.
How I wish we had brought Oliver on for short spell. We have missed

A 13,000+ crowd enjoyed an entertaining game in the
sunshine.Dunfermline, much as it goes against the grain, fully deserved
their first half lead, and at times were playing attractive football
with the Bairns defence holding out and a few chances coming to
    Falkirk.
J.J. must have given the team pelters at half-time,as the blue
dynamite, started playing better.Having said that,we were only in the
game because of some terrific saves by Parks.
We got a goal back in the middle of the second half, and from then on
I feel we were the better team.
For me,the man-of-the-match was Davie Weir.I can't see us holding on
to him for much longer, particularly if the Deans are going to Asset
    Strip,as I believe they will.
Yogi getting booked is not such a disaster as the MEEJA would have
us believe.I reckon Olly is much better alongside McLaughlan.I always
get a panic attack when Yogi tries to play football.
To prove my point, remember the games at the beginning of the season
when Yogi was out and Olly was playing in a sweeper role.We were doing
much better. Then Oliver was out for a while and Yogi came back.

be at the Bairns' last game in the Premier against the
Rangers (2-1 to the Rangers) and enjoyed Falkirk's play.
Now that the Premier is cutting back to 10 teams makes
Falkirk's task to stay up a tough challange. Is Jim

Cadette - will he be staying? And how is your goalkeep-

    (Cadette)

Falkirk Dominated for most of the first half until Rodgerme Grant
scored just before the time interval, Falkirk should have had a
penalty in the first half when wee Tricky was brought down in the box
but it was disallowed, Thistle had most of the play at the start of the
second half and things were not looking good for the Bairns, Then
Tricky Cadette was again pulled down in the box and a penalty was
given. Steve Fulton fired the ball into the back of the net and it was
all level, Falkirk then started to put the pressure on and when the
Thistle goalkeeper dropped the ball after a fumbled save Cadette was
    there to grab the winner.

Colin Cramb signed on Friday but could not play as there was a mix-up
with his papers, Im also glad to say that Ian (Numpty) McCall was on
the bench where he deserved to be, Jock McStay was also a sub.

After Rangers Gubbing yesterday things look good for Falkirk for
Wednesday nights cup game at Ibrox. Falkirk are now 4th in the table
and 1 point behind Rangers, Early days but a good start anyway.

Excellent win for Falkirk on Wednesday night, Falkirk dominated the
first half of the game and went in at time 0-1 up, Laudrup scored in
the 2nd half and looked pretty sharp, Tony Parks had a excellent game
and saved Falkirks skin on quite a few occasions, After Cadette made it
1-2 Eddie May was too greedy with the ball and missed a sitter.

Yes, that just about sums it up. Your best bet is to travel the extra
10 miles or so to Ayr and have a few swallys in some of the better pubs
in Ayrshire. It's only an extra 15 minutes or so onto your journey,

        (Williamson) (Cadette)

Falkirk played cack in the first half and Killie had most of the play,
It was about hour into the game when Williamson made it 1-0 .
Tony parks was sent off at the beginning of the second for stopping
McKee from scoring outside the box, They were about 10 yards off side
before parks went for the ball and offside should have been given.

Falikirk struggled on with "10 men" and with about 10 min's to go
Cadette made it 1-1 and made a wee gesture to the Un savory looking
gentlemen in the stand..... With a few minutes to go Cramb and Black
were sent off needlessly by a inconsistent referee for having a go at

Falkirk suffered with Tony Parks not playing in goal for this game as
our reserve goalie is pretty crap, Davie Weir should not have been sent
off as it was Durie who was Impeding Weir..!! 10 out of 10 for his
Oscar winning Dive which lead to Weir being sent off , He did the same
thing earlier but changed his mind and decided not to dive as the
camera was right in front of him just beside the right hand post,
Falkirk held Rangers off quite well during the first half and created
a few chances, I don,t think Rangers will get many games like this handed
on a plate to them... anyway.. we Got Humped 2-0 and thats that *:@)

    Stav,

I spoke to the Falkirk physio at a wedding on Saturday night, and he
told me that he had a lot to do with John Clark signing on at Brockville.
He's been best buddies with Clark since their days at Dundee United. He
persauded Jim Jeffries that he'd be a good signing, as he would get him
for 100,000 only four months after Stoke had paid 210,000 for him.
The player has been unhappy down South & the English team were
looking to off-load him for 175,000. Unfortunately, they told the
player that he could go for 100K if an offer came in, and after a phone
call to John (The physio) & a quick conflab with Jeffries, they duly
stole him for 75,000 less than Stoke *REALLY* wanted !!

Heard on the radio this morning that Jim Jeffries will be sending Video

Suspect it won't do much good. The SFA have stated on many occasions
that they don't use video evidence, rightly or wrongly,on the basis that
not all games are video taped.I've often wondered if the observer in
the stand files his report on the game, before or after he's seen the
highlights on TV mind you.Have to feel sorry for Weir all the
same, having been at the game and now seen it on TV I'm still of the
opinion that it was no more than two guys running flat out getting
a bit tangled up.I also think it's unfair to accuse Durie of diving for
the very same reason.Especially so given that if he hadn't stayed up
following the keepers challenge earlier in the game it would almost
certainly have been a penalty.Referee had a shocker though.

Falkirk played out of there skins on Saturday and showed an impressive

Nicky Henderson and Colin McDonald had a great game , The ref was a bit

Motherwell out played Falkirk for most of the game, There passing and
build up was good to watch, Falkirk were without McLaughlin in defense and
Tony parks in goal, Falkirk had a few chances in the second half
but failed to put the ball in the back of the net, Lamont was in goal
(enough said about him) and committed himself too early which lead to
    the Motherwell goal.

Falkirk play Celtic at Hampden on new years eve, The first time we
played Celtic it was 1-1 at Brockville and 0-2 to the bairns at
Hampden, If Falkirk play like they did on Saturday were in trouble,
Hopefully Parks will be back and Lamont can sit on the Bench for

What a rank game this was, Falkirk were craper than normal and
squandered the chances they were given, McLaughlin, Hughs, and Weir
were missing from the defense which was non existent last night, we
need to win on Saturday as were beginning to slide, James the 6ft 2"
Numpty was dire, JJ needs shot for this performance (No... not you JJ
    the other JJ) *:@)

Anyway.... we will probably get humped on Saturday again ........

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but when Cadette left....did you replace him ?
I know you signed a couple of players, but did JJ (The other one) sign
    a striker with a proven goal-scoring record ?
You cannot expect to lose a player of Dickie's standard, and expect
to carry on scoring. You've only got to look at the Bairns early form
compared to now, to see where the problem lays.
We could let you have Andy Walker for a dozen of those pies you keep
telling us about. You know, the ones with meat in them as opposed to
    6oz of solid grease.
If you throw in the odd lukewarm bovril, we could throw in Mike
Galloway to bolster your defence........and your Sunday Post Crime
    Count total 8*)

Falkirk play Dundee Utd Tomorrow night and a win would take us 2 points
behind Hearts and 3 points behind Celtic.... here's hoping....

We play Hibs at Brockville on Saturday and also need to win this game
to keep us out of the danger area in the table....

Falkirk's new boys McGrillen and Kirk put on a good first game
performance on Saturday, Looks like JJ got a bargain swapping
May for these two plus receiving 100,000 as well.

Mo Johnston signed for Falkirk on a free transfer plus hearts got
Colin Cramb in the deal. No figures about his pay etc have been released
but im sure Jeffrey's wouldn't fork out 3k a week on Mo Jo. Hearts may
have given Falkirk some cash in the deal but nothing had been said yet.

At a press conference earlier Mo-Jo was heard Mumbling "Ive always
wanted to play for Falkirk"....... *:@)

    re-2

    Steve,
Falkirk paid 100,000 for Mo-Jo and Hearts gave it straight
to Mo as a "see you later payment", Falkirk also gave the
tracksuit salesman a 100,000 signing on fee, but stressed
he will be on the same wages as the rest of the Falkirk team
and not the 3,000 a week Hearts were paying him.

As for Colin Cramb, Hearts paid 50,000 for the 21 year old
centre forward who had only played 3 first team games for
Falkirk before falling out with boss jim Jeffries over an
alleged incident whilst on a weeks holiday in Marbella
with the rest of the 1st team.

A vital "6pointer" for the Bairns yesterday against Killie, who after
losing to The Scottish Cup Winners come May,have looked to lost their
    way a little bit,

Can some diehard Bairn tell me how many goals Steve Kirk has scored for
the club since his recent arrival from Motherwell,I thought he had
scored 3,but I was informed that he had scored 4,a slight difference
    of opinion between a Bhoy/Hun.........
