My guess is that since a schedule usually "slips", if you come
in early it would be a "backslip". This probably happens so rarely
that the word is not in common use...

mmmm I feel that -.2 is a bit tongue in cheek for the asker of teh
question... (and apologies if not).
/aki, are you sure it is not "backflip" as in gymnastics and politics
when a change in direction is called for?
