890.0. "Who named the continents?" by NYUK::C_ROLKE (Chuck! Didn't you see those baboons??) Mon Jun 10 1991 21:49

               Africa
         North America
         South America
               Antarctica
               Asia
               Australia
               Europe

Who do I talk to about getting Europe's name changed to something which
starts with the letter 'A'? Maybe if I hurry I can get it done in time
    for 1992.

I think you need to contact Vanna White. She currently holds reign
    over vowels and consonants.

If you spell it Europa, then all the continents end in the letter A.
That's even better, since you don't have to do anything special with
    North and South America.

If you spell the name in most European languages, it DOES start with "eh"!

If you want consistency, just speak Turkish - "Avrupa".
