| 247.1 | Nice cards! | RAYBOK::DAMIANO | C'mon dork, I got sumthin' for ya | Tue Mar 12 1991 11:37 | 13 |
| | Well, John, so far it looks like it's just me and you. I finally got
some of these new Post cards. My first six are Will Clark, Vince
Coleman, Tony Gwynn, Bobby Bonilla, Gary Sheffield, and Kirby Puckett.

A nice looking card, too bad there aren't any logo's, but I like 'em
anyways. No dups yet, but I have alot of 1990 Post cards to trade if
    anyone can help.

John, if you have the Will Clark, compare it to the 1990 Sunflower
Seeds Will Clark I gave you last year. the photo is almost identical.
Do these guys have pool photographers, or what?

nite and bought 2 boxes (on sale $1.99 ea.) of Post Cocoa Pebbles.

Bonilla's,I will be very glad to trade for 2 that I don't have.
They are nice cards,I like the sharp contrast and the colors are also
    very sharp........... John

    John,

I'd like to convince you to trade me that extra Todd Zeile card, but I
can't seem to send you mail; I get some sort of net error.

    Let me know,

Got my 1st 3 the other day out of a box of Alphabets. Trouble is my
two older boys (6 & 2) aren't big alphabets fans (i hardly ever eat
anything for breakfast, although there is the dog...) Any other Post
cereals you've seen besides Alphabets, Fruity/Cocoa Peebles? I think
I did see some on a box of Super Golden Crisps (formerly Super Sugar
Crisps before sugar became a dirty word, the kids would eat these but
they don't need any extra pick me up!). I got Sheffield, Coleman, &
Zeile, major and minor league stats are nice, pictures ok but the
blurred backgrounds don't do much for me. Coleman looks like the
giant who swallowed St. Louis, the stadium upper deck behind him
is dwarfed by his face. Having not seen last year's, the no logos
really are strange looking when you first see them.

| | My son bought a box, actually I bought it and he took the cards, but
got Canseco, Maugire, and Ricky Henderson all in the same box. This
box should have gone to the west coast, to Oakland for sale.

Forget the dog.... That's considered cruelty to animals in most
civilized societies 8^) Besides, if he's like mine, he won't go near
it, anyway. Dogs really aren't that stupid, they know poison when they
    smell it! 8^).

    RE: .8

I'll probaby get all the East Coast stars, because I'm on the West
Coast. That's the way it worked last year. I got all the local (West
Coast) stars by trading with people in here.

| 247.11 | Wheaties has a give-away. | AKOCOA::GASPARONI |  | Wed Apr 03 1991 08:57 | 9 |
| | I know this doesnt belong in this section, and Roy is waiting to jump
all over me, but while you guys were walking through the Cereal section
of the stores, has anyone noticed what Wheaties has been doing?? They
are putting Michael Jordon Sports Calanders, and Sports Books on the
back of the box, shrinkwrapped on as an add-on, so there is not cutting
or fishing through the box of sticky cereal to pull something out. I
guess these basketball free-bees are very limited, and sell for $10
with the box of cereal and calander intack at sports shops. Might be
    a nice collectible someday.

I too have wondered why they don't include them in all the cereals at
least for a short time. My son sees a post cereal on the shelf and
figures 'post cereal, should have the cards'. You would think that
Post realizes it is not only young kids but us older kids too who
are collecting these pieces of cardboard.

John, they must not be up on the latest trends, kids hate pre-sweetened
stuff, the cards should be in the pre-sweetened brands for us older
kids who grew up on sugar and in the "healthier" brands for todays'
    enlightened youth.

| | I've been collecting the post baseball cards, also. I now have
36 of them, 16 are duplicates.

When I can no longer find a box of sugar crisp with the cards, I'll
enter my list of dups and look for some swaps to finish out my set.
Although I'm really a music collector, this set has captured my
collecting interest, and I'm determined to have a full set.
