I just got this game and it's very interesting. I'm trying to get off
of the second level but I'm not having much luck.

-- I got all three gems, I placed them in the correct combination.
Nothing happened. Has anybody else completed the second level?

edp,
I'm down to the fourth now. The gems go to the right of the first
triangle, the left of the center triangle, and the middle of the last
triangle. The floor will open up in the center of the room. Did you
change the granite rock to a gem?

Yep, I had changed the rock to a gem. It turns out I was
misinterpreting the clue -- instead of putting the gem in the left,
center, or right part of each design (first, second, and third), I was
putting the gems in the left, center, or right design.
Actually, I have finished the game. The ending was a bit tough, but
nice.
For anybody else considering this game, you should know that it is
original and a well-executed game, but it is somewhat short. There are
seven levels to go through; each presents a few puzzles. If you know
what you are supposed to do, they can be played through in a few hours,
and it would only take that long because the player keeps getting
killed by the difficulty of making all the right movements in the right
places.

I'm having trouble at the fourth level when I'm supposed to put the
gems in clockwise. What's the deal? I have tried different combinations
and nothing seems to work.

You don't put the gems in clockwise:
You just walk clockwise around the pattern the specified number of
times. I'm not sure how picky the game is on this point. If you walk
around the outside of the whole pattern, you'll bump into the ladder
and leave the room. I think I walked around the inner triangle but
at least partially inside the outer circle. The exit will appear on
the left side of the screen.

Some spoilers on the 6th level:
Once you have gone through the red room you come upon a hole in the
ground and a door. The door is a continuation of the game. If you go
into to hole you find yourself in sealed room. If you leave the room
and go back up the ladder and through the red room back out to the door
that leads to the red room and turn around and go back all the way
down, you will come upon a four young DEC type dudes. They are the
writers of the game Immortal. They will ask you for coffee. If you
answer yes they will reply that they wrote this here program and you
are a liar. Then they burn you to the ground. If you answer no,they
tell you to get lost and they return to their "nap". It was pretty wild
to stumble on this.
But, Now I'm having trouble in the water. I'm trying to out run the
Nordac and I can lead him almost all the way to the whirlpool but I
can't seem to hold out longer than that. Should I turn around at that
point and go back towards the gate so the Goblins can drain the
chamber? I know I'm just trying to bide time for the Goblins. What's
the trick?

inch of space used when on the magic carpet.
as for the water (Spoiler)_
You get in close enough to the water creature to get him to chase you
and you have to make it to the whirlpool. Good Luck. ;^)
I'm all the way down to the Dragon now. I can't seem to do anything to
him. I can "vanish" six times. I can be fire proof once. I figure that
the amulet has something to do with this puzzle. What's the deal?
More important....Where's the coffee? Does this have something to do
with killing the dragon????

You just have to be fast -- don't go any closer than the monster than
you need to. In fact, try to be already starting to move away when it
comes awake. Don't bump into any walls. And do go directly into the
whirlpool.
Re .9:
Where!?
Re .10:
You need to use everything you have at the end, except the gold. You
need to use the blink spell (six times), the fireproof spell, the
amulet, the statue spell (six times), and the magnetic hands spell.

First room with carpet - you get Ana's ring from bottom left corner (I
know, you've done this)
Second room with carpet - you get coffee pot (which can't be seen as an
icon or dot or anything) by going straight to the intersection, and
then angling your carpet right and going to the center of the right
side. You have to run over the pot to get it but it isn't hard - it has
worked everytime.
gotta go - I'll talk later.

--edp,
I used the blink spell 6 times. The dragon pauses and I use the
fireproof spell and the hold the amulet to the light. I end up getting
killed (by fire even though I use the spell) but just before the screen
changes and starts over I can see the wizard higher on a rock and the
dragon looks up.... What am I doing wrong??
Paul,
I tried this a few times. I looked all over the right side on the
second room. It usually takes two wizards for me to get that far. When
you get the coffee pot,are you doing this with one life? Will it work
if you die with the ring and start over?

C coffee pot
This is where you find the elusive coffee pot. It is hard to get to
because of the fire pits nearby. It is also hidden (along with a fire
pit below and above it) from view along the right side but it is within
this room. In other words, there is no secret entrance or wall or
anything like that - it's just in the shadow of the wall. Doesn't
matter what life you are on - I've been on first and last and still got
it. It is hard to get to because of getting around the pits but once
you're in the spot, you should be told:
YOU'VE FOUND A COFFEE POT!
TAKE IT?
YES NO
or something like that.

Two things, maybe: One, make sure you are using the fireproof spell
just before the dragon breathes fire at you that seventh time -- the
spell only lasts for a given period of time, so it has to last through
that flame. Two, as soon as you can after using the fireproof spell,
use the amulet -- keep pressing the button (select/start, whichever)
until you get the inventory screen. Use the amulet right away, not
when the dragon is starting to flame again.
If you use the amulet correctly (but do not read it), the wizard will
appear and the dragon will abort its flame-throwing and look at the
wizard.

Actually, the rock is not "changed" into a gem; there is already a gem
inside it.
There is something that can reveal the gem.
Give the rock to the thing that can reveal the gem.
