702.20Where are they now???KERNEL::WYETHSThings that make you go mmmmmWed May 14 1997 09:379
    Aparently, the group who used to produce the fiscal calendars and
    supply them to the group for inclusion in VTX (sorry, don't know what
    either group was/is called) have been disbanded so it looks like fiscal
    calendars are no longer available through the VTX AMTABLES channel!

    Does anyone know of another route for obtaining fiscal calendars or are
    they now just dodo's?

702.23When is Easter 1988 ?GTJAIL::MARTINOut to LunchFri May 30 1997 09:137
    I've done an Excel spreadsheet based on the info in HUMANE::DIGITAL
    note 5308, this will print out like the old "proper" calendar.

    However I only have info for US public holidays... can anyone tell me
    what the UK holidays are for the first half of 1988 ?

    Once I get this info, I'll post it on a web page somewhere !

    A colleague in my group put together a FY98 Fiscal Calendar and I added
    in the UK holidays. I'll try and find a public place to post it.

702.32...so now you knowGTJAIL::MARTINOut to LunchFri May 30 1997 14:5415
    "Easter is the Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon. The Paschal Full
    Moon may occur from March 21 through April 18, inclusive. Thus the date
    of Easter is from March 22 through April 25, inclusive. The date of the
    Paschal full moon is determined from tables, and it may differ from the
    date of the the actual full moon by up to two days. This definition,
    along with tables, etc. may be found in "The Explanatory Supplement to
    the Astronomical Ephemeris and American Ephemeris and Nautical
    Almanac". This definition that uses tables instead of actual
    observations of the full moon is useful and necessary since the the
    full moon may occur on different (local, not UT) dates depending where
    you are in the world. If the date of Easter was based on local
    observations, then it would be possible for different parts of the
    world to celebrate Easter on different dates in the same year."

    OK, for those of us a bit slow on the uptake, how do you get the
    excellent calendar from the URL to print out without loosing half of
    the second and fourth quarters onto A4 - or can't you?

    Thanks
    Sharon
702.36try this...GTJAIL::MARTINOut to LunchWed Jun 04 1997 18:407
    Either download the Excel spreadsheet and print that (its a bit more
    legible anyway !), or if you have Internet Explorer, click on 'View',
    'Fonts', 'Smallest' and then print.

    If you don't, I've put a link in for a scrunched-up version which will
    fit on A4, or there is a generic PostScript file you can download
    directly too.
702.37There may be an easier way but...IOSG::ELLIOTTRRussell ElliottWed Jun 04 1997 18:4911

    You can change the Scaling factor for the printer you are using. This
    is a permanent change to the printer properties so you may want to
    change it back after you've successfully printed the calendar. I found
    that 89% did it.

    From Netscape on WinNT it's simply (!) File -> Print -> Properties ->
    Advanced -> Graphic -> Scaling
