Methinks it has something to do with the SEB (or whatever they call
themselves these days) unplugging DecPark just before lunch!!!

Quite a lot of nodes based in DECpark are still unreachable - teamed up
with the apparent lack of system manager for Cosme3, I think "it may be
    gone some time!"

A combination of a novice user who has selected "create
conference", and insufficient file protection on CHEFS that
        has allowed it to work.

Point your notebook to CHEFS::MS-EXHANGE;10 for the correct one
and hope it doesn't get purged.

sort it.

Is it that someone is doing a CREATE/CONF? If so, why are they calling
it MS-EXCHANGE? Or is someone being very daft and using CREATE/CONF
when they really meant READ or WRITE? If so, would it be worth someone
posting a note in the MS-EXCHANGE conference to remind people how to
reply to or write a note?

    Goldy.

re.97:

If they don't understand VMS security features then tell them to search for
a command procedure called something like move_conferences.com, it sets the
ACLs up correctly and only takes seconds to do all the files in NOTES$LIBRARY.

Well that's undoubtedly what's happenening - but to be fair,
although that would be a daft thing to do with the VMS
character cell notes, it's a lot easier in Teamlinks Conferencing.

A new user given the name of a notes conference to open might
reasonably select the FILE option on the menu bar, in which
case the only relevant looking option is CREATE CONFERENCE.

	Ian.

I have logged a call to get the protections fixed, I mentioned
the move conference procedure.

There is 240 files, 400836 blocks of notes conferencies in
CHEFS::NOTES$LIBRARY:
