A change in the amount you can claim, but I've not found anyone who's 
been told about this.

     Up to two meals a day can be claimed - in addition to
     breakfast in the hotel. The cost of these, in the UK,
     including drinks, must not normally exceed �30 for
     dinner, or �10 for lunch. Reasonable drinks with a meal
     would be a half bottle of house wine or one pint of
     beer.  Additional drinks, eg. at the bar, room service
     or from mini bar, are not permitted.  For countries
     outside of the UK, refer to International Meal Limits
     section of this policy.

Yeah, I noticed this a couple of months back.... Strange that it was updated on VTX but there was no other 
notification of it - perhaps someone 'forgot' %^)

Call me old-fashioned but isn't 30 quid a bit much for an evening meal? You can 
easily get a bloody good meal for less than 20 quid anywhere in the UK.

    The old lunch allowance wouldn't get you a main course at many motorway

Depends. If your stuck in a hotel on your todd, and eat there, it's 
more expensive.

    FWIW,  even in a "simple" Post House a starter, main course, pud,
    coffee and 0.5 (where is the damn half key :-) of the house plonk
    will set you back all of the �30 you are allowed.

    discount off a meal in the Post House Reading!
