| Like beauty, ugliness is in the mind of the beholder. The worst
type of ugliness, as we all know, is ugliness of the spirit resulting
in physical violence, greed and malicious behavior. However, that
having been said, there are some physical characteristics which
look ugly to me, and could prevent me from being romantically
interested in a person. (These characteristics would not cause
me to treat the person in question any differently than anyone else
except for romantic interest, though.)
So, what do I find ugly?
Obesity
Buck Teeth
Receding Chins
Double Chins
Turned-up Noses
Facial Hair on women
Ears that stick out
Facial warts (like that woman had in the movie "Uncle Buck")
Rotten, brown, or missing teeth
I don't mean to be cruel, but none of the above physical
characteristics would ever appeal to me, and might really turn me
off.

Ugly is something inside, not appearance ( I'm convinced ).
Some people are hideous to be around, regardless of how they
look. On the other hand, initial impressions can be
WRONG ! As:
Some years ago, I had just begun participation in a
new sport. The second day out at the field, I watched as
then newest "recruits" wnet through the training sessions.
One was a young woman that I saw for all of 30 seconds as she
walked past.
I remarked to myself, "Boy, if that's the way the women in
this sport look, I quit..." Pretty crummy, huh ?
As it turned out, she stuck with the sport, and as I got to know
this wonderful person, I realized that I simply had not
NOTICED how beautiful she is. It still gives me a bit
of a jolt to see the old pictures of her I have....

and dirty fingernails, smelly clothing, unbrushed teeth,
nicotine-stained hands and teeth, cigarette breath, or (worse yet), BO
poorly covered with heavy perfume or cologne.
These are all things one can control; looks are luck-of-the-draw
for the most part. How can one be faulted for that?

| Everyone makes instant judgements about people the minute you see them.
(this is otherwise known as a First Impression). But, to me, some one
can be overweight, bald, whatever, but if they are dressed attractively
and stylishly, clean, hair is clean and styled, and smell good, I would
consider them to be good looking.
On the other hand, my brother's ex-wife was absolutely GORGEOUS!! An
ex-Miss Texas, even. This woman was incredibally beautiful. But after
we got to know her, I just can't describe how "ugly" she became. (and
still is). So, really, anyone can be attractive to anyone else.

| Reply .35 touched upon the aspect of "ugly" which corresponds to
my view. In my opinion, true ugliness is internal. It comes packaged
in all different kinds of bodies, many of which are quite
conventionally attractive. And the ugliness that seethes within may
not make itself evident right away. But sooner or later, it will.
I am fortunate to have known few truly ugly people in my life. Those
whose paths I did cross caused me no end of anguish. But I'll
also comment that some of the most beautiful people I have known have
had "outsides" that were not conventionally attractive.

But this is (IMO) *real* ugly.. While I'm sure some folks like it, I look

Re: replicas...
I'd be damned surprised is any originals are being driven.
They're extremely rare and worth a fortune.
One way to tell though is if the driver looks like he's cooking.
From what I've read, the heat generated by the engine is intense,
the insulation minimal if there's any at all.
