349.0. "Thank You" by TLE::FISHER (Work that dream and love your life.) Mon May 22 1989 14:54
This is a thank you sent to all who have been entering notes in the
past week. I don't know if it has been this way all along or if I
have just begun to notice it, but, in all those notes, people said
"SO" instead of "husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend" when talking in
general about life partners.
When I read a note that talks about "do men feel xxx about their
wives," or some such, I feel locked out of the conversation, since I
hope to have a male SO someday and not a wive. Reading the notes from
the past week that talked about SO's, I felt included in the
conversation.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to write that way.

| I'm male and have been with my SO (also male) for close to three
years. I also noticed the same thing (use of the term SO) which made me
feel more part of the discussions. The issues are much more common
than different. They deal with relating to another intimately more
than with male/female issues. So thanks, everyone.
Love,
Sandy
