156.0. "Hair Stylists/Long hair" by ASABET::C_AQUILIA () Wed May 17 1989 14:29

    could anyone recommend a reasonably priced hair salon in the greater
    maynard/stow area that will cut 'long' hair without chopping inches
    and inches off? i would like to get my hair cut alittle more than
    a trim and alot of people don't know how to deal with long hair
    (or don't want to). thanks in advance!

	Try Look of Elegance right next to the package store on
	Main St (across from Paul's Bakery). They all do pretty
	good, but I usually ask for Maebelle. I have long hair
	myself, and everytime I've told them 2 inches that's
	exactly what they take off. She charges $8 (maybe $9 now)

156.2tried it already; they cut hair dry!ASABET::C_AQUILIAWed May 17 1989 15:1616

    you know something? that was where i went last time i needed a
    trim.
    maybe it was my fault for not specifying what i really wanted but
    i thought they would know. in any case, i told them i wanted my
    bangs that are layered trimmed and the bottom cut about an inch
    or two. they cut the bottom fine but never wet my hair they just
    combed it and cut it dry. i have a perm too so i thought it was
    alittle funny.
    don't get me wrong, they did a fine job with length but for 11 dollars
    you would think they would of at least wet the hair.

    still looking (thanks for the quick response)

156.3ACTON STREET IN MAYNARDNETMAN::DISMUKEChocolate lips don't lie...Thu Jun 01 1989 14:427
    there's a place on acton street behind the police station in maynard
    - used to be david's shear magic - now it's linda's something or
    other. try there - PAM always cut my hair and she does exactly
    what you want her to do.

    well i just thought that i would let the replies know that i opted
    for kathy's shear delight in gardner again. i know, i know the
    drive was lengthy (although i got from maynard to gardner in 25
    minutes...!) (don't ask) but anyhoo, she did a great job. took
    her one hour to cut my hair in a bowl shape and re-shape my bangs.
    she made sure every hair was even and i walked out a very satisfied
    customer. for anyone who is interested, she is opening her own
    hair salon in gardner called the 'carosel'. (sp?) and i highly
    recommend her for long hair.
