| Don't know if it's Disney. The actor's name you can't remember is
Martin Landau, who won the supporting actor Oscar last year for his
protrayal of Boris Karloff (sp?) in Ed Wood.
Coincidentally enough, he was sitting next to us lst Sat. waiting for a
table at a Santa Monica restaurant.
Pinnocchio is Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

The only thing I know for sure is that ..yes, it does star the middle
boy from Home Improvement - Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
I'm not sure it's a Disney production. From the previews it looks to
start off with Computer Generated Images and then eventually works it's
way to "live" actors/action.
The previews don't really look that appealing, so it might be one I
save for video.

1139.3 | Not Disney; correct name | QUARRY::reeves | Jon Reeves, UNIX compiler group | Thu Jul 25 1996 19:01 | 12 |
| No, it's not Disney; it's from New Line / Savoy, with most of the puppets by
the Jim Henson workshop. The director, Steve Barron, did the first Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtle movie, so he's got some experience working with puppets.
The correct title is The Adventures of Pinocchio, and it opens in the US
tomorrow.
The locations should be interesting -- it was filmed in the Czech Republic.
And there's more than you probably want to know at http://www.pinocchio.com
(mostly in the "Gepetto's Workshop" section). Unfortunately, the video clips
appear to be incorrectly formatted.

| RE: .1 (spelling of Boris Karloff)
It's actually spelled "Bela Lugosi" :^)
Landau played Lugosi in "Ed Wood".

P.S. Title spelling was corrected.

What, him again? Isn't he getting a little overexposed?
As for the movie, from the promos shown on TV, my kids think
this is some kind of horror movie. They were actually a bit
scared of the "genuine-wood look" Pinocchio puppet. Especially
when it moved. :-)
