    Sad news this morning: Bill Vukovich III was killed in a sprint car
    accident in California over the weekend.  He was running a few practice
    laps, trying to set the car up for a race when he "just hit the wall".
    In another era, when Indycar racing meant oval racing, he would have
    been one of the young lions of the sport.
    
    Funny images: I remember seeing Bill with his father in the garage area
    at Pocono in 1988, when Bill was rookie of the year, discussing
    something quietly while the hapless Simon crew tried to break the car,
    when AJ Foyt drove by on his scooter.  Father and son immediately
    extended a middle finger in greeting; AJ laughed heartily and returned
    the favor.
