Are you sure those are the correct points? If so then Al Jr., would have already clinched the title. I believe the most you can get is 22 points per race, and there are only 2 races to go. Lou

I like Al Jr. too. I meet him a while back before he was even in CART his a nice guy. i was in Alburgueque (SP) I alway have trouble with this word and went to the Galles Shop. They took me on nice tour and I missed Al by about 10 minutes. Li'l Al's been close to the title before losing by a slim margin to his Dad a few years back, I hope he can pull it off and perhaps some year soon win the 500! Mark
223.3 | CART coming to NHIS. | CUJO::JORDAN | Mon Nov 26 1990 13:16 | 8
I seem to recall reading somewhere that CART is considering adding NHIS to its schedule so that they will have another oval race. Should be good for you all in the New England area. Does anyone know if they are planning to add it for 1991 or 1992? Bob J.

Re: .4 The story I saw on Speedweek said Johnny Capels, CART's VP, toured NHIS and pronounced it suitable for an Indy car race, in terms of seating, media facilities, track configuration, and garage facilities. Now, Bob Bahre has to find a sponsor and get on the program. The 1991 CART schedule is set, so I assume the earliest NHIS could get onto the schedule is 1992. Every Northeastern track that considers a CART date has to balance the calendar with the schedule. The key months for good weather (May-September) are already taken by other venues. September-October is better, but weather can be iffy in New England in the autumn, and Indy cars don't run ovals in the rain. April and November seem out of the question, unless Goodyear develops a racing snow tire. I'm pulling for them. CART desperately needs another oval. If they can also drop one of the lamer street courses and pick up a date at a real road course (Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, and Heartland Park come to mind immediately) it should improve the series tremendously.

Does anyone have CART's address handy? I'd like to drop 'em a note about all sorts of things...Andretti suspensions, race dates at New Hampshire (Hey! How about if they run the oval in July and the road course in August?), all sorts of stuff... Thanks in advance... Mike
