| Well, as far as I am concerned, this notefile is for sf/fantasy/horror/etc.
only (what is often referred to in general as "Fantastic Literature"). There
is a BOOKS.NOT that can be used for other genres of fiction.
Occasionally, though, there is some discussion of books/movies/what-
ever that are only marginally sf (or non-sf, as far as some people are con-
cerned). THE JUNGLE BOOK is a perfect example. It certainly has elements of
fantasy in it, but a lot of people would never think of it as fantasy.
It all depends on your point of view. Some people think that the Tarzan
novels aren't fantasy, some do. Some don't think that the Indiana Jones
movies are fantasy, some do. Because most people draw their own lines about
what is and what isn't sf/fantasy, there are bound to be arguments of this
type.
As long as a book or a movie has *some* fantastic element in it, *I*
consider it fantasy, and feel that a discussion of it has a place in this
notesfile. Otherwise, it might as well go in BOOKS.NOT (or MOVIES.NOT, TV.NOT,
or whatever).

| Yeah, MOVIES and TV are a bit sparse, too, which is why I tend to
discuss sf movies or tv shows in those files rather than SF (at
least, I'll start discussions there; if someone else starts a
discussion here, I will respond). It doesn't seem quite right to
discuss sf books in BOOKS, though, otherwise there'd be nothing
left for this file.
