Hello Charlotte Cyclists,
I will be in Charlotte for 2 weeks starting next week doing an Ultrix
installation for the folks at NCNB. So, I'm going bring a bicycle. Are
there any good places to ride in the evening after work? Also, are
there any club rides, centuries, or rally events going on the weekend
of July 20th and 21st? It would be great to actually be able to ride
with some of the people with whom I've corresponded in the notesfile.
Looking forward to seeing yall,
GS

I'm leaving the 24th for the west coast. So I may not be
available for a ride. But please check to see if I'm around.
DTN 393-7569, alias (704) 529-7569. I'm at the engineering
building off Arrowood, not the field office off Tyvola on
South Springs Road.
There's the McDevitt & Street ride Tues. & Thurs. at 5:30pm
near the offices and the airport. It's a 28-mile fast loop.
And then there's the Marvin training ride Tues., and the Marvin TT
on Thursday at 6:45pm. Marvin is south of town.
Sunday July 21st there's a 27-mile average pace ride - contact
Thom Hanrahan, 358-1098.
Saturday July 27th is the club picnic on the lake (plus rides).
This starts in Davidson, north of town, at 10am.
Every Sunday at 1pm is a ride (usually brisk) at US-521 jct. SC-160
south of town.
The Tarheel Cyclist president is Phil Barker, at 545-3930;
you can also call the local shops - Bicycles South and Bicycle Sport
are your best bets.
Good biking, and I hope you enjoy Charlotte!
