    Our friend and colleague John Lee Ellis has had a few fundraising
    events organized in order to raise a few sheckels to supports his
    upcoming run at the Race Across AMerica.  Now you don't gotta run
    out and get pledges totalling X hundreds of dollars or anything like
    that.  You only have to pay the completely modest sum of $10.
    
    The only problem of course is that the events are in SHALOT, whoops,
    Charlotte.
    
    What I am proposing is this [yeah, it's crazy but wot the heck]:
    Some of us get together AND DRIVE DOWN THERE to meet the esteemed
    giant John Lee Ellis and do his humble event, you pick it, 30, 62,
    or 100 miles.  There's even a 15 for anyone who desires such a course.
    
    I am offering to take some folks along in the BYCYCL (that's my van)
    along with their bikes (roof mounted Yakima).  We can leave here
    Friday PM.  Meet John sometime Saturday, do the event Sunday
    and motor home (after showers, folks).
    
    Any takers?

    I'll be going from Nashua to Charlotte, NC.  Could pick up some folks
    in any of the DEC location south of here.  Close to 495 would be
    convenient.

    When ya said "Shalot", (phonetic spelling) in place of Charlotte,
    I thought fer sure you was tawkin' wit' a Baaaahhhhston twang...
    Oh well, I was only eight hundred miles off...
    
    I would feel uncomfortable spending a weekend with total strangers,
    even fellow employees. But that's just me.
    
    Please don't take offense, this is a great idea, and I do believe
    it should be explored further.

    Or we could caravan (though I have a Voyager which is almost the same).

    	I sent mail to John asking how the fundraiser went and he
    	said, "It's not until May 12th."
    
    	So, folks, Ed it talking about driving to Charlotte, North

    Oh, right.  I knew there was a problem with entering a note before my
    second pot o' coffee.  Danged locked file.  (That's it blame it on 'the
