on the scheme:
I reckon it'll be Astra's, Cavaliers, and maybe the Carltons and
Senators

My wife's scheme at Unisys is a Vauxhall one and includes all cars upto
and including the Lotus carlton.
Quote from Letter on Scheme:
"they also have an excellent range of vehicles covering sports models,
saloons, smaller economy models, diesels, estates 4WD, etc (plus Saab)"

| The PCL should have a price for all Vauxhalls and Saabs
and a price list for all extras. Otherwise, what's the
point.
And, re a few back. I thought about it and I can't see
why Calibras shouldn't be on the PCL. Can you explain please?

PS Why did we pick Vauxhall, if 30% of us chose them then 70% did not
also don't GM own EDS - why are we sponsering them.

Based on my experience with other computer companies that have similiar
Vauxhall schemes, they only allow certain models to get the cheap
prices, ie just Cavaliers and Astra's, for example.

The new ASTRA convertible is looks stunner, so where is it in the
brochure you might add? Does this mean each time there is a new
model we will get another glossy?

| I don't think the new cabrio is officially released till
July 7th. even if it came out end of last week, the
brochure wouldn't have it in. I do agree though. The new
cabrio does look good - a lot better than the current
(previous) shape.

The senator is no more, or soon to be that way, too.
Don't the Astra GSI and the Calibra
(and for that matter the cavailier) all get slammed in the Handling and Ride
categories, ie No Driver appeal.

So long as you don't mind it handling like a ship around corners
(actually for such a heavy car front drive car it goes round quite
well) it goes like a train on motorways. It's got a great engine (it'll
pull in any gear at any speed.

Thank God we didn't go for the most boring set of cars around... FORDs
The Mondeo is plain bland, at least Vauxhall/Opel designers design cars
the rest copy!

| Well, without getting personal, I would say "to each his own".
I have enjoyed driving Ford for a few years whereas I don't enjoy
driving Vauxhall (I realise that UK_CARS may not be the best place in
the world to admit this but honesty is still the best policy in my
mind). I'm afraid I just don't like Vauxhall's ergonomics or driving
position - sorry!
And anyway, I feel you may have rather missed the point. I want a
family saloon size estate and Vauxhall just don't produce one. I've
tried an Astra and it feels to small. I can't afford a Carlton.
So without wishing to wrap another note around the brick and throw it
back over the wall, I'll take a Mondeo thank you very much.

| Yes. This has been brought up in here already. GM do not
offer a "complete" range of cars. No medium size saloons,
no two seaters, no seven seaters, no MPVs.
Has this been fed back to CC?

.17 as obviously not driven a Mondeo. I've just done 300 miles in a
1.6LX over the last couple of days and it's a really good all-rounder.
It's the first car I've driven for quite some time that made me want
to drive it just for the hell of it. Much more fun than a Cavalier!
Great shame that they are not on the 'list'.
Richard.
ps. The Mondeo estate has a greater load area than the Granada.

I'm not surprised. The load-space in the new Granada estate is
significantly smaller than in the old one. Just one of the reasons I
deserted Fords for the first time in years, and bought a Pug 405
estate instead.
