| I too witnessed some truly spectacularly bad driving on my journey from
Crewe to (and around) Birmingham and back again. Roundabouts seemed to
be causing the most problems, with cars waiting at an empty roundabout,
then pulling out in front of the next car that came along. Amazing!

It's called response time. Sunday drivers typically have a high
response time. Sunday driving, especially between 2 and 8pm (after
lunch period), is something I avoid by all means.

Think yourself lucky. When it scomes to driving in Basingstoke, the
seven days of the week are:
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday and Sunday!

One problem, I think, is that so many people are used to crawling along
nose to tail for six days of the week - that faced with the relatively
clear and open road on a Sunday - they don't know what to do. They've
forgotten what the accellerator pedal is for - and 3 to 5th gear have
seized solid through lack of use... :-)
