Talking of Historic Events, does anyone have the dates of Historic
Racing in this country for this season? Could you post them?

Better late than never. The best historic meet in Britain
was (presumably still is) held at Silverstone early in the
season on a sunday around the end of April (ie about now).
I don't know this years date, and indeed it may have passed.
Also I think that there's a repeat event later in the year.

This is a good value for money meeting with lots of interest
with a large series of races based on dates from pre 1914 to
pre 1965. Where else can you see umpteen millions of pounds
worth of classic machinery being raced (often at speeds higher
than was achieved in days of yore) in earnest.

The sort of machinery to be seen might include anything from
an edwardian Mercedes, through dozens of Bentleys, Bugattis,
Sunbeams, Rileys, Alfas, ERAs right up to the post war Ferrari,
Maserati, Lotus, Cooper etc.etc. etc.. Perhaps 200 racers in all.

Some grids might be thirty strong. One race I watched some years
ago included about 10 Bugatti 35s!. Not all of the owners race
the cars for all they're worth but others certainly do and some
are driven by 'racing drivers' often resulting in spectacular
	entertainment.

Come to thing of it it's about time I went again, someone must
have an events calendar. I think it's the VSCC who organise it.

I think you've missed it for this April - I believe it was last weekend
