1675.0. "Lotus replica passenager comfort" by SNOFS2::RICKETTS () Tue Jan 28 1992 02:55

    "For the comfort of my Passenager"

    I have recently constructed a Lotus Seven replica using a Toyata celica
    18RG twim cam.
    It goes well, but in these summer months the passenager footwell is
    getting too hot for comfort.Has anyone else who had this problem got
    any suggestion so that I can get my passenagers of my back.The problem
    is of course is that the motor extracters run on the passenagers side
    and being that the 18RG is quite a bulky motor the extracters are a
    good size and emit a good amount of heat.
    There isnt much room to fit a air conditioner in these cars.

    Any help would be appreciated

    	What about getting rid of your passenagers and putting real
    passengers in there instead? Perhaps they won't complain so much,
    then!!!

    Cheekily yours,

1675.3Heat deflector/shield!IRNBRU::WILSONTue Jan 28 1992 11:2610
    Fit heat deflectors (2mm sheet metal) onto the underside of the passenger
    footwell...bolt/screw onto the floor with 10-20mm spacers, located
    between the car floor and the heat shield.

    The 10-20mm gap will allow a cold air flow between the heat source and
    the car floor......this will keep your passenger happy.

    Cheers...John.

Steve,

Alternatively, put a cold six-pack in the footwell. Replace every 40 miles
or so.

Should keep everyone happy n'est-pas ?

cheers,

    Thanks for the suggestions.Getting rid of the passenager would probably
    mean a divorce,and the 6 pak would be great but the local law are
    getting a bit tough on "cooled " drivers hic!

    Its given me a few ideas.
