| They are available here in Ireland for the last 6mths. and the basic
model starts at 1600cc. rising up to 2.0i. Also available is a model
with a t-Bar. They are not a bad looking job for the boy racer.

| Yeh, I read an article in A&M about Nissan Motor GB taking over
the dealership. The 100 NX comes with T bar as standard on
their models and is 1500 less than Nissan UKs model.
Anyone got any figures, reviews, etc

I read from one review that driving 100NX is very close to normal
Nissan Sunny; handling is about the same and engines are exactly
the same that Sunny models. Only shape and space inside is more
"sport".

| What I was hoping for when I wrote .0, were some facts and figures about
the 100 NX. Or personal opinions about the car from any of you who have
driven it.

1652.7 | I've got some numbers. | ELMAGO::TTOMBAUGH | Dangerously close to mawkishness | Thu Jan 16 1992 18:03 | 9 |
| In the U.S. I believe these are called 1600NX and 2000NX.
I have some road test figures I can enter tomorrow. The local
dealer has quite a load of them in stock. They are somewhat
less appealing in appearance than the MX-3, imo.
Have seen only a few on the street.

re -1:
At least here in Europe there are TWO engines for 100NX, the one
you introduced and the "grandfather"-model 1.6 with 90 hp at 6000rpm.
At least here in Finland 100NX with 2.0 litre engine cost nearly
2 x 1.6 litre model!

| You can't seem to get the 2 litre here, in England anyway. I got a brochure
and the 1.6 16v does 118mph and 0-62 in 10.7 secs.
I think they're around 12k which isn't bad considering you get PAS, electric
windows and mirrors, central locking, alloys and T bar roof all as standard.
Anyway, I've never actually seen one on the road, so I take it noone can tell
me what they're like to drive.

Here in Finland I have seen, well not a lot of them, but a few.
They really don't look so bad if you compare it for example
to some same class jap - Mazda 323 F. I think Nissan has succeeded
better with design.
But I would prefer an european.

The 1.6 16v engine is the same as that in the Primera. I found this hard to
believe, but so say the brochures.
I saw one in Maidenhead the other morning. Not too sure what to make
of it though. Maybe I'll have to go for a drive in one.

model of the 100nx into the UK.

1652.15 | 2.0i is a screamer!! | NZOMIS::TURRELL | nil et barstardum est vert il carborundum | Tue May 05 1992 03:54 | 25 |
| We dont have the 100NX her in New Zealand although Australia has it in
both 1.6 and 2.0 t/bar flavours.
Equivalent here is called a Sentra. Bland Nissan styling in the small
car class hides the real beast. Sporting Sentra with the 2.0i engine
is a wee rip-snorter sports car at a bargin price call the Sentra SSS.
105Kw twin-cam (wide angle head), Nissan fuel injection, 16v, 2 channel
Bosch ABS, NISS Nissan security system (alarm, fuel shut-off, remote key,
tilt meters), plus all-up kerb around 1050Kg - AC, power windows and
sunroff et al all as options so you can keep the engine/ABS/well
weighted PAS/wishbone+gas struts+antiroll bars all round and not
weigh the whole thing down if you just want to go FAST on straights and
FAST around corners!
Interior is sombre dark grey, limited rear foot room, good front
seating and front head room, and instruments are ala BMW white-on-black
clear and easy. Front and rear fogs, fast glass and lovely gutural howl
as you get the 2.0i up towards 6800 red-line.
Fast Lane said the 100NX was nice but price was bizarre in comparison
to its natural competition - perhaps a feature of the Nissan UK vs
Nissan problems in England. Sounds like money on a V-TEC Civic is a
better bet.

| I'm thinking about getting a Nissan 100NX for my next lease car. I've
got the sales catalogues but I haven't been able to find any reports
from people who have any experience of driving this vehicle.
Do any of you good folk know of any good/bad comments? If so would you
care to share them, and tell me where they came from please.
Thanks very much,
Dave

1652.17 | The little plastic car...<moved by mod.RS> | AYOU35::WARREN | | Tue Apr 20 1993 15:06 | 15 |
| Dave,
I have an article on the car from a magazine from either last year or whenever
it was released.
I'll look it out tonight and give you a quick commentary on it tomorrow, but
from what i can remember, the jury thought it was too much money for too little
car. I stress, that i think that's what they said.
I'll look it out anyway and let you know.
Warren
ps: I think it was Autocar that did the test.

| re: -1
Well, funny you should mention that. If I ever get to Warrington I can
borrow it for a few days. If I want it "FLEET" will do a deal with me
- my Sapphires lease doesn't terminate until july 1st you see.
I tend to drive about 800+ miles a week alone so the Sapphire is a bit
big. I don't carry much in the car either. But with the new tax coming
in soon I've set an upper limit that the 100NX falls into quite nicely.
I must admit the MR2 I borrowed from a friend for 3 weeks ( he was on
holiday at the time ) was impressive but too much for me.
I've seen one in the garage and I was quite surprised. It's not a bad
looking car. All the bells and whistles I want are there, and a T-bar
top. There's enough boot space for me as well. Apparently the garage
has sold two of these things this week and the rate at which they are
being bought is going up, well that's what he said...
Then again there's a Mondeo, or an Escort...
It's nice to have the choice.

1652.20 | More on the NX | KERNEL::SHELLEYR | Comprinter Pute-out | Tue Apr 20 1993 16:47 | 19 |
| There has recently been an update to this model.
The shape is exactly the same but the grey strip that goes round the
car is now colour keyed to the body work and the engine now gets
fuel injection.
It has a 16v 1600cc engine with a 0-60 of 10.7 secs. Its not a
performance car by any means but you can expect reasonable economy.
I had one on demo a while ago and was very impressed. It has loads of
headroom and legroom. The T-bar roof is excellent.
The lease cost should be around 300 a year.
I intend to order one in the summer if I can get a reasonable quote.
The list price is around 12,700.

| I had a look at one of these motors the other day and I have to say
they look "TERRIBLY UGLY", especially in white, even rusty plastic
white. They certainly are no match for the competition like Metro,s
clio,s etc,etc.
Personally, I drive a Peugot 306 1.9D turbo which blows these small
hairdressing type skateboard things off the road.
Pete, you long haired Irish dude, have you rode it yet ?????????????????????????
