1230.0. " OPEL MONZA 2.5E Could somebody help?" by CLARID::VERAN (Serge Veran CLARID::VERAN) Wed Sep 19 1990 15:56

	Hello,

	I am living in France and recently I bought a second hand car,

		OPEL MONZA 2.5 E  ( Year 1983 Model . )

                Type AVJ 422 Serial # W0L000022D1245324

                ( Engine is 6 CYLINDER 130 HP, Fuel Injection )

        As I would like to maintain this car myself I am looking for a
        detailed technical documentation covering this model or the Vauxhall
        equivalent one.(I don't know the ref.)

        Nothing is available in France, only in Germany but in German...not
        clear to me at all.
        I know that British AAA is very clever in this domain so, could
        somebody help ?

        Any HINTS, TIPS, DOCUMENTATION REF., etc... are welcome.

        Thanks,
        Serge.

    The Vauxhall equivalent was the Royale, but they went back to calling
    them Opel, as it seemed "more up market".
1230.2Different engines = different cars?CRATE::SAXBYTime to say something contentious!Wed Sep 19 1990 17:105

    Didn't the Royale in this country (the uk) have a 2.5 litre engine and
    the Monza a 3 litre? There were also trim differences.

    Originally introduced as Vauxhall Royale Coupe - can't remember which
    engine. Later badged as Opel Monza; saloon was Royale, became Opel
    Senator. Then GM discovered that U.K. companies would not buy German
    Opels, so rebadged again as Vauxhall Senator. Because this was
    obviously British through and through, it started selling.

    Serge, what you would appear to need is a Haynes or similar manual.
    Should be available in the U.K., but may not cover the variant you
    have, if it differs significantly from that sold in the U.K.
