I will need to select/order a replacement company car in the next six months or so and need advice please. Knowing very little about motors I've no idea what car to even think about, I can name some names like Ford and Renault but I'm not sure of the whole market. What I'm looking for is advice on a book or magazine that might help me find my options/decide. Even direct suggestions would be welcome. As an historical record my previous company cars have been: Avenger 1.6 - Avenger 1.6 - Cortina 1.6 - Cortina 1.6 Est - Astra 1.3 Est (four years) - Cavalier 1.6 Est - Renault 21 Est. My 'musts' are: Estate less than 2.0 litre with power steering petrol engined. Nice to have: Good performance, relatively cheap on the scheme, electric gadgets. Don't cares: Leaded/unleaded, quality of local service, split seats, ABS, country of origin, fancy radio street cred. My current car costs me 957 on the scheme and I don't want to go much over this figure, if at all. What do the panel say? Bucko...

I take it that you are either a qualified user or get the Market Supplement ? If not, there is no such thing as a "cheap" car on the lease scheme ! Re: .-1 A diesel Cavalier is aparently due out in about 6 months, so could be a possibility.

Richard, I've just ordered a Renault 21 GTX Auto Hatch at 936. This was after a quote of 2061 for the TXE Auto - next up in the range, and not much more for a hell of a lot more money!! The Savanna (estate version) will cost you in the range 837 - 1951, according to model/extras. As .1 says the best thing you can do is browse VTX (select 7 for Fleet). If you want to look on price, select 3 from the Fleet menu, then 4. Prices quoted in the latter menu are for non-supplement holders, that's why they look high :-). The magazine to get is What Car - I will toddle along with my copy in a moment, since I've finished with it (half price since I know you :-)) After that, take a tour round your local garages and pick up all the glossies ou can get your hands on. Then start putting in pairs of quotes (never to soon to start) until you hit on something both you and PHH agree is a reasonable price!! Good hunting, Jeff.

Re:.3 > Then start putting in pairs of quotes (never to soon to start) until > you hit on something both you and PHH agree is a reasonable price!! I thought there's a limit of two quotes per person. Everyone over the top costs you. Can anyone correct me here? Dave

Apparently you can have more than two quotes, what you can't have is more than two quotes being processed at once...... |
