| I had the fiasco (sorry fiesta) CVT and drove from Gatwick to Newbury.
It got there; but it's not a car to hurry. The right pedal is volume
NOT acceleration!, The car does it's own thing about speeding up.
Not recommended except if your a dodery old pensioner.

| My my used to have a DAF 66 Marathon that had the CVT automatic
and that was not slow for a car of it's time (1974).
It did have an advantage though it had the Renault 1800cc engine.
My mum used to have races with BMW 316's and win :-)

| My mum has an automatic Metro with a 1.3 engine. It is not quite
as nippy as her previous 1.3 manual Metro, but it is quite a pleasant
car to drive. I now refer to it as the Go Kart, because it is rather
like driving one. All in all, not a bad little car.

| I have the 998cc Automatic Mini...
It is a very nice 1971 model, but it is somewhat underpowered compared
to a normal 998 mini - about 10% power loss, which is absorbed in
the transmission.
It is for sale (in Switzerland) if anybody is interested.

| The Nissan Micra I test drove was 1000cc... I don't think I'd go for
anything less than 1300cc.
