Couldn't find a note for the 1994 race -

Someone in the RACERS conf wanted to know if he could buy tickets 'at the
gate' for Le Mans. Seems he'll be over in Paris during the race and wants to
stop by and watch it.

That person was me. Any help is appreciated. I'll be arriving
at Charles DeGaulle Airport Friday morning.

Always have been able to do so -- I know of no change to that. Last
year prices were about Ffr280 (approx $50) -- cash only, no plastic.

I paid last year using plastic at the main gate.

You do have to enter 1234 on the kaypad presented to you after they
swipe the card. This is some sort of default 'PIN' number for non
    french plastic I think ?

    That's interesting, on both counts.

I couldn't get anyone at the back gates to take plastic last year, &
had a near-run thing with available cash. Had to live on less beer for
four days ..... Answer seems to be to go to the main gates, but the
gate-guards where I entered were adamant that no gates took plastic.

Re the 1234 input, I've never yet had a problem with non-French plastic
lacking PIN numbers, but I've continually been expecting the first
    time :-)
