| There's something wrong with it!
My best guess would be the dampers, have you replaced them? Try
the good old 'bounce' test.
Check the front shock absorbers for fluid, and refill if necessary
- they do tend to leak when they get old. Otherwise replace them.
They aren't too expensive (approx 12-15 exchange) and are a
doddle to fit.

| The dampers seem to be OK, but anyway I don't see how bad
dampers would give this effect. They are supposed to stop
the springs bouncing, rather than taking the load on cornering.
The feel is almost as thought the anti-roll bar works when I
turn right, but not when I turn left...

| Have a look at your anti-roll bar rubbers on the front chasis rails.
Could be that they are worn, and not anti-rolling properly, or
even the anti-roll bar bracket has broken from the chasis rail.
I've seen that before!!
As an aside, did you know Ron Hoppkins does a complete MGB upgrade to the B's
suspension which included koni rear shocks and a rear anti-roll bar which
apparantly turns the car into quite something else!

| I have heard about this kit, but feel that fitting it may just
hide the problem. I'm begining to wonder if perhaps the chassis
is twisted in some way ...

B dramatically. Try mailing him on MGB::GILLOTT or MARVIN::GILLOTT. He's

| I once had a car, not an MGB, that behaved differently left v.
right hand bends. It was caused by notyhing more than the front
wheel alignment.

Alignment in which sense ??? Tracking, caster, camber ???

| I was thinking purely of the tracking. Two things to look for.
1. When the wheels are tracked it's essential to ensure that the
lengths of the track rod are maintained equal and that all of
the adjustment isn't on one side. With different track rod
lengths suspension movement affects each wheel differently since
the angles aren't constant.
2. Rack bush wear. This can occur more on one side than the other.
It tends to have an uneven effect since the rack pinion isn't in
the centre of the rack and the nearside is more capable of
'flapping' about. Badly adjusted rack doesn't help either.

Sounds like it is worth a look. I need to re-do the front
suspension anyway, so I'll check this while I'm about it.
