      An annual event organised by The "Custom Car" magazine, in
    conjunction with organisers of the Newquay Surf Classics, and
    "Volksworld" magazine.
    
    This is a rally/run, held around the May/June time, on the weekend of
    the Newquay Surf Classics. There are various meeting points along the
    way from the London area, and around the M4,M5 junction. ( Reputed to
    be quite a sight last year!! ) Cars then make their way down to the
    beaches of Newquay, for a weekend of "Sun, Sand and Surf" and cars.
    Last year there seemed to be an overwhelming presence of "VW's" of all
    sorts, along with a liberal mix of radical customs.
    The event's primary purpose is to raise money for charity, and it
    certainly seems more enjoyable than than running round a racetrack 150
    times, or listening to one of Terry Wogan's 24hr specials all day!
    
    So there you have it, a couple of us from the "AIR_COOLED" conference
    are allready going, and we plan to make it as big a convoy as we can!!
    ANY takers??
    I will post the definete dates, and charitys benifiting at a later
    date.
    
    Oh yes, I have enquired about the possibility of Digital sponsoring a
    team to go on the run, But the reply was...
    
    "I am afraid.... does not fit within the Corporate sponsorship plan
    Digital is currently running to, which is based on the "Arts"."
    They also said they didn't have any money left even if it did fit in
    the plan!!.

    Pah! If we wanted to organise an outing to Glynbourne to see Pavoroti
    they could find the money I bet!

    I will dig out the bumf from past years events, sorry if I gave the
    impression that it was **just** "custom" cars, from what I gather, any
    car (even a seirra??) can join in.

    I don't want to seem to disuade anyone from this - but just check your
    car insurance for joining in this sort of event, - I was reading an
    article in one of the classic car type mags, and they were warning that
    normal car insurance probably doesn't cover you for any type of
    organised fun run, - although special 'classic car' insurance may do.
