902.0. "X-TURBO, useful or just another con?" by GIDDAY::GILLINGS (Have we fixed it yet?) Tue Jan 02 1990 23:33
Saw a TV ad for a gadget which claims to reduce fuel consumption,
improve performance and reduce corrosion of the exhaust system. It's
called X-TURBO and looks like a stainless steel tube which attaches to
your tail pipe. Yours for only $A60 ($A80 for "larger cars"). Sounds like
a load of rubbish to me, surely if these effects were possible, car
manufacturers would already be using the gadget. Any comments about the
feasibility of this?

I wonder whether this is supposed to be some sort of extraction
turbo? I've heard of the principle, rather than force induction
you aid extraction of the waste gases...
