Just read that Volvo bailed out of the PRV engine development
consortium something like 2 weeks ago. The positive info is that
they will launch a straight 6 engine in the near (?) future.

Peugeot and Renault are reported to have worked with the CFM (Compagnie
Franaise de Mcanique, Douvrin) on a new 6 cylinder engine.
The article does not mention a V6.
Based on the Renault-Volvo alliance my guess is that they may build a
straight 6. For what cars ?

Volvo have already launched a 3Litre 24v Straight six in the new 960 range.
It was developed by Volvo and produced 204BHP with a 275BHP Twin Turbo
to follow.
I do'nt think Peugeot and Renult had anything to do with it though.
