Yes, its high time I raised another BMW note! This time its servicing. My 316 is now approaching 20,000 miles since new. I have booked it in for service religiously when the green lights tell me too. In fact because of delays getting a 'slot' I've always ended up running on the red light. My first service happened at 1200 miles (not a function of the lights but just the running in service). I am now approaching my 4th service since then making a total of 5. The servicing interval has thus averaged out at about 4500 miles! My driving is not hard, more brisk. Most mileage is to work down the A33 from Reading to Basingstoke. In otherwords a pretty sort of average profile. So what experience have others had? Are these lights just a device to screw the customer for more service income? Richard Snampg.

As far as I know the ONLY BMW dealer in Reading is Vincents by Kings Meadow, near Reading Bridge. Vincents also have the BMW franchise in Henley. The nearest BMW dealer not owned by Vincents is probably Altwood in Maidenhead. |
