<***New Italians***> Just returned from a two-week trip (for DEC) to Milan and saw some rather interesting motors. Being an Italian car fan - Lancia (or Luncha as the Italians call them), was on the lookout for anything new or different. The two most impressive: 1. Fiat Tipo - distinctively styled and looks very well put together. Added to that all the extra corrosion protection, etc. this should prove a real threat to Golf/Astra/various Japs. The "hot" (Abarth) version is due later...this wont be a turbo but a straight 16V. 2. Alfa 164 - a real stunner! By far the best looking of the "type 4" cars (and possibly many others). Proves that the Italians really know about style when designing cars. The top of the range 3 litre really flies too. Will be interested if anyone is contemplating buying/test driven/placed orders, etc. for either. PS I sat in both but didnt drive either!

229.2 | Dedra integrale (and Turbo) available | CRATE::RUTTER | Rut The Nut | Tue Jan 15 1991 09:06 | 9 |
Just read a write-up on the Dedra integrale. Not available in UK, due to marketing logic. Main comments are that it is a very capable car, but they should not have given it the 'integrale' tag, as it does not have the 'brio' of the original(s). Aimed at Audi sales territory, rather than the 'hot hatch' brigade. |
