| We are planning last week in June to do
BOSTON/FORT TICONDEROGA/LAKE GEORGE/SARATOGA/RHINEBECK/WEST POINT/BOS
with 9 year old son. Would like any advice on what to do, what not
to miss, what to avoid in that area. Lodging/meal experience helpful.
Thanks.

On my list of what not to miss - The Great Escape in Lake George.
They have an AWESOME roller coaster called the Comet. Be aware
though it closes early - 6 PM I think.
How are you planning on getting from Boston to Ticonderoga?
We took a very short ferry ride from Ticonderoga to Vermont
and then on through NH to MA. This took longer than the
Mass turnpike to NY thruway but was more scenic.

29.9 | white water rafting at lake george | AKOFAT::VISCONTI | | Thu May 15 1997 08:26 | 6 |
| When I children were around your's age, we took them white water
rafting, the river really is very mild, no really bad sections but
enough to give you some excitement.

29.10 | Ausauble Chasm & Shelburne Museum and Farm | SMURF::DOLAN | | Fri May 16 1997 13:26 | 9 |
| Go to Ausauble (sp) Chasm - on the NY side, I believe it's just No off
Fort Ti. It's great and a 9yr will love the opportunity to run and
climb
the rocks. There's also a short boat ride further into the chasm. We've
done that trip several times and have enjoyed it each time.
You can also continue north then come across Lake Champ. to Burlington
VT by bridge or ferry. On the Burlington side there's lots to do,
including the Shelburne Museus and Shelburne Farm...

| You could stop and see the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge on the
way to Lake George. And if you head north to Lake Placid you can tour
the Olympic facilities. Last time I was there we saw some of the
athletes including the ski jumpers and figure skaters. (this was
mid-summer)

| And then of course there is Rhinebeck Aerodrome,
but then that is why Rhinebeck is on the list, right?
