| Westwood is right next to Rt 128 (aka I95), about 10 miles south
of where the Mass Turnpike crosses 128.
From Fitchburg, take Rt 2 all the way to 128, then go south.
Cambridge is at the end of Rt 2. From Fitchburg, take Rt 2
all the way to the Alewife T station, turn left onto Rt 16, and turn right
onto Mass Ave. in less than a mile. Mass Ave. is Rt 2A in Cambridge,
so you could take 2A off 2 earlier if you wanted a slower, smaller road.

| I checked the T map and there is no bus service between any commuter rail
stops and Lexington, except to go all the way to Porter Square in Cambridge
and backtrack.
There is a non-MBTA bus service called Lexpress which MIGHT run from the
Waltham train station to Lexington center, from which one could then take a T
bus to the north end of Hartwell Ave. However, I don't know if this agency
has any printed timetables or maps. They have a phone number in Lexington which
I assume you can get from Directory Assistance.
Probably simpler to keep on trying for a carpool.

It has the information you need. I've ridden the Lexpress buses;
they're nice, if not terribly frequent.

| Thanks Bob and everyone else who provided suggestions. We've checked
out all of the area bus services around Lexington, those won't work.
We've checked with the Van Pool services, and they haven't come up with
any matches. So, it looks like a car is the best way to get there.
Thanks! kath

| The Minuteman Bikeway is at the north end of Hartwell (near #9
Graphics), but it's probably not much help for someone coming
from Leominster as it only goes a little more west to Bedford
and doesn't link up especially well with public transportation
(let alone any that allows a bike on board).
