Hello, I hope someone can help. The problem I have is with a Turbo LPS20. It seems to bootup correctly but doesn't send out the start page, although it does briefly say processing. It will send out the internal test prints. Is this a printer problem or server/network problem. Thanks in advance, Graham.

If it's having trouble sending out the stratpage, then it's not
completely booted yet. I would need more info as to what the front
panel was saying, (does it get to ready?), show jobs when it says
processing, this will tell us where in the boot it is.
After it gets to 'vaxelin' you can connect to it's console.
In Vms type 'mc lps$console', it will ask you for
the printers name. In there, what does it say it the upper right?
In the rest? What happens when you send a job to it with /notify?
Several things come to mind, I would need more info though to recommend
anything.

Sorry I should have put that it does get to the READY prompt and does see the jobs being sent to it, but just times out. Graham. | |||||

Ok I still need more. If you send a job with /notify, does it
get a 'range check" error ? If so try this, go into FS mode, press
1,1,1,6, wait 30 seconds, then power cycle. This will reset the
controllers rom.
Can you connect to the console? (mc lps$console)
If you can't and you get an 'unable to connect to network object'
message, unknown, rejected. Then you may have an lcit problem,
check the lcit connections, check the lcit/duplexer boards fiber cable
at it and on the mother board.
You can always call in and we could talk about these things,
1-800-525-7104 if you're in the US/canada/South Amer.

Just to let you know that the problem was with the controller board.
I tried to use my NT server to help isolate the problem, but while
I could bootup a lps32 the lps20 kept coming up with err 54.
Anyway the printers fixed now so who gives a ......
Thanks, Graham.
