Can anyone give me a clue as to how to get inside the LPS17 and add
    some more SIMMs to it?

I am getting some SIMMs from an LPS17 to be scrapped and would liek to
know how to get inside both LPS17's.

    Regards,

Go to the back of the printer.
Power down and disconnect the e-net connector.
Loosen the 2 flathead captive screws on each side of the e-net connector
      area.
Go to the front of the printer.
Pull out the darker colored 1.5 inch plastic portion at the bottom, the
controller board is attached. (You may need to go loosen the screws a
little more after you get it out a bit, I usually have to).

You'll see the 3 simm slots on this board. Higher memory capacity simms
go toward slot 1 (for example - 8 meg in slot one, 4 meg in slot 2)
You can put 3 - 8 meg in maximum, they must be 70ns simms.

Other things to consider - If you are putting these in an older printer
(300 dpi, version 1.2 or older) you can only use simms that have
parity. The newer printers (1.2 or above) can use either (parity or
    non-parity)
