David Gans comments on Dick's Picks 8 rumors in rec.music.gdead: DP8 is to be unveiled June 14th. There is an effort to keep the contents under wraps until then. Apparently Dick Latvala was a little bothered by all the advance comment on DP7 (prejudging without having heard it, etc.). "What's the matter with a little mystery?" is Latvala's direct comment to Gans. (It won't be the '69 show, which is a Vault/multi-track candidate, not a 2-tracker...) - JayC.

BTW, the "Phil Zone" vault release, which is assorted material from the 70s and 80s, *also* is being released on the 14th. A Dick's Pick and a Vault release on the same day, coordinated with a release party, and noone's leaked the contents... What's this world coming to? - JayC. | |||||
