Spirit of the Dead
``The Art of the Dead,'' an exhibit of watercolors by Jerry Garcia,
Grateful Dead album covers, posters, and fliers, comes to town tomorrow and
will be on display at the Lionheart Gallery on Newbury Street through
Sunday. David Gans, host of the syndicated radio ``Grateful Dead Hour,''
will emcee a VIP reception Friday night that Senator John Kerry is expected
to attend. We figured our Dead Head governor would make an appearance, too,
but a spokesman for the show reports that Governor William Weld has sent
his regrets because he'll be out of town. WZLX -FM, which airs ``The
Grateful Dead Hour'' Saturdays at midnight, will air a special two-hour
edition of it this week, with Gans broadcasting live from 11 p.m. to
midnight. MarkeTVision Direct is helping bring the national touring show to
Boston.
