391.0. "GOD STREET WINE" by TECRUS::DEMARSE (That Lucky Old Sun) Mon Jan 31 1994 08:52

I think these guys deserve a note of their own.

I saw them again on Saturday night and all I can say is - WOW !!! They
can jam! They were signed to Geffen records last week and are all
set to record another album next month. Their latest release, 'Who's
Driving', is out on their own independant label.

I'm glad to hear they've found their groove. I saw them a few times a
couple years back when they were playing the nyc bars pretty
frequently. They almost felt like a different band each time. I guess
they were just tuning in to each other and their sound was still
evolving a lot.. some nights we would like them a lot and others.. you
just never knew what type of music you were in for. I love the name.

despite saturday's show being in a room that was way too hot, way too small,
and way too crowded, it was still kind of a fun show; it was kind of weird,
though; i've only been out of school for 3 years but i felt strangely old and
out of place at a fraternity party

thanks danielle - i don't think i would have been able to talk my way in if
you weren't there too (we didn't have tickets and weren't on the guest list,
but we managed to get in anyway)

listening to "Who's Driving" right now...

Winos,

I just called the Paradise to confirm showtime, etc.

The recording said "Tonight's Performance has been postponed until June 9."

I'll try again later when the boxoffice opens, but you might want to
check if you're making a long trip.

391.5I think the GSW show tonight is still a goTECRUS::DEMARSENo ego's under waterThu Apr 28 1994 13:219
As of last night, the Paradise show is scheduled to go on as planned
    tonight.

I think that they guy that sent that message out was listening to an
old message from yesterday and thought that it meant GSW tonight.

Besides, they're playing in Geneva on June 9th.....

I just called the Paradise and the God Street Wine show is going on as
    planned tonight.

The guy that called and got a postponment message was listening to an
old message pertaining to last night's show at the Paradise.

Hope to see some DECheads there!

no, Bag was their first independent CD release, studio album. Who's Driving
came next, which was live cuts.

i heard once about some earlier release, before Bag, that was just available
on tape, but i don't know if that's true or not.
