367.0. "Hot Tuna @ Fish & Game Tree" by MR4MI2::REHILL (Call Me Mystery Hill) Thu Aug 12 1993 09:39

Jeff Maggard and I were able ti finagle a soundboard patch at the recent
Hot Tuna show, at the Northboro Fish & Game. I wonder if there is any
interest in a Tree of this show, and also if threis anyone interested
in running the tree. Jeff and I can provide a real nice sounding pair
of cassettes, but neither of us has the time to run a tree.

So what do you all think?

I read in the WSJ that Dan Quayl(e) was gonna appear in a potato(e)
chip commercial during the super BOWL... anyone see the commercial?
it was supposed to be shown only once during the S.B....

367.4ECRU::CLARKCan you picture what will be?Mon Jan 31 1994 10:1210
Yep. I was surprised they didn't have him make a joke about spelling
"potato(e)" ....

The Pepsi ad with the 25th anniversary reunion of Woodstock was kinda funny,
I gotta admit. Who was the guy talking to Jorma and Jack? The caption said
"original members of Jefferson Airplane," but he didn't look like Paul Kantner
or Marty Balin.

    the woodstock commercial was funny.

Yes, Dan Quayle was in a Wavy Lays commercial. I wish I remembered
that 5 minutes ago when I was on the phone with my republican-till-I-
    die boss. :-)

I'm glad he's finally found a job he's qualified for. You don't need
to spell 'em to eat 'em. ;-)

yeah, i saw it... pretty cute commercial i thought... now that Dan
isn't spending as muc time impressing us with his inadequecies as a
v.p. he seems a lot more pleasant and likeable... now he's basically
harmlesslike the rest of us! :^)

got a chuckle from the commercial... "hey lady, i'l bet you your seat
that you can't ea just one of these potato(e) chips!"... the kid
eventually got to play QB using this tactic... (after scarfing Dan
    Quayle's seat too)...

was that during halftime? if so, that could be why we missed it; we spent
halftime flipping channels trying to find something on better than the country
music bit; we weren't very successful...

the commercials were better than the last half anyway. The woodstock
one was my favorite "Think they'll go skinnydippin?" I hope NOT!"

we watched the Butt Bowl on MTV during halftime...

John Sebastian was in the commercial. He was talking to Jorma in one frame.

it was sebastian who asked Country Joe the question..didn't
    see/recognize jorma??

a side note, read that "the fish" of Country Joe and the Fish (I alwasy
thought the fish was the band but it's a person) has gone back to what
he was studying before Country Joe sidetrackedanddosed him in the
    60's..... law.....

Danny boy's commercial was right before the 1/2 time show and was very
humorous - heard he's donating the $ to charity (can you say NOW or
    Planned Parenthood! (NOT)).

I was rolling from the Pepsi Woodstock commercial, especially the
valet parking part & Country Joe not remembering anything when he was
talking to John Sebastian. The kids seeming so mortified by their
    parents had its moments also!

more RE's for Country Joe and Sebastian...
ya, esp. since I've read that J Sebastian was just as dosed as Country
    Joe was!

Jorma was far over to the left, and Jack was on the right.

Barry Melton ... I read an article about him a while back; he's doing righteous
legal work for the poor and other folk who've been Stepped on by the Man ...
the victims of the Establishment! RIGHT ON, BROTHER!

The WSJ article said, regarding the Quayle ad, that they wanted to do
a play on his pototo(e) debacle, but they couldn't find anyone to ask him if
he'd be into it. So, they trashed that idea. and yes, the $$ are going
to charity, which is a nice gesture.
