5.2 | Worth it? | SPICE::PECKAR | Not the Mama | Tue Nov 12 1991 16:29 | 13 |

Since its been a while that we've been living under the shadow of an
organized grateful, I thought I'd take a look at what its bought us. Being
organized has _definitely_ cut back on the number of topics entered...
Gratuful_old: 10 months from 1-Sep-1988 to 1-Aug-1989:
630 new topics and 7843 new notes.
Gratuful: 10 months from 6-Jan-1991 to 6-Nov-1991:
212 new topics and 13,954 new notes.
Wow.

5.3 | Worth it? I think so. | ZENDIA::FERGUSON | Guinness gives you strength | Tue Nov 12 1991 16:43 | 6 |
| I think the organized deal is _WELL_ worth it. This works well with
my mode of operation, which tends to be of the organized nature. It is
rather easy to find things that are important -- which is a big improvement
over the old organization ...
In short, I like it.

5.4 | | SA1794::GLADUG | | Tue Nov 12 1991 16:44 | 3 |
| It may be about one third as many topics but it's nearly twice as
many notes!!! YOW! We may be more organized, but we're definitely
more verbose.

5.6 | Keep up the fair work :-) | SCAM::GRADY | tim grady | Wed Nov 13 1991 08:53 | 8 |
| I like it. I was noticing just a couple days ago how few topics there
were, despite the fact that there is a HUGE amount of traffic here.
It's easy to find things, and it even seems to be faster to access, but
that could be a hallucination on my part. That wouldn't be all that
unusual for me ;-).

5.7 | more users = more notes ? maybe ! | MSHRMS::FIELDS | send a smile, show you care | Wed Nov 13 1991 09:09 | 1 |

|
5.8 | | SPOCK::IRONS | Setting the Standard for Deadcellence | Wed Nov 13 1991 12:42 | 4 |
| I've noticed it's faster too. Don't know if that's due to organization.
I'm not organized by trade but play one at work?

closer to youse guys, maybe

about the number of notes...didn't the moderators and some
of the rest of us do an extensive cleanup of the file before
the old version was shut down? I know that I went thru and deleted
a LOT of my old garbage replies...but I think moderators went thru
and deleted complete notes and all their replies...
but, anyways, whatever the numbers, I agree, it is MUCH easier to
get to some of the more important things REAL fast...

Debess is right. A great deal of notes in grateful_old were purged before the
archive. However, certain topics in this version have been purged as well.

| Oh dear and grateful moderators,
Dontcha think it might be useful to have a reserved not for the trade of
non-Dead tix?
We do have topic 20, which is "Grateful Dead Tickets: plea/beg/buy/sell/swap".
But we don't have a designated "place" fer doing the same fer non-Dead
tix. I know that one non-Grateful-reader just a little while ago went
to offer Neil Young tix in this notefile, but he gave up because he found
only topic 20 and figgured that was all there was.
And me, i just went looking fer a place to put my offer of merl&knot tix...
and ended up putting it in MusicHappenings. Closest match I could find!
So how about it, oh dear and grateful moderators -- can we have a reserved
"Non Dead Tickets: plea/beg/buy/sell/swap" topic?

Hey tms ...
I was sure we did - so I checked and we do (note 83). The thing is, it only
has 4 replies so apparently we've all forgotten it's there. I'll move your
note there, if I can find it......
