| Got a post card from the Deadbase folks announcing Deadbase '90 and Deadbase V.
"Our bigger and better-than-ever annual edition, Deadbase '90,
will contain many features that will not be available in
Deadbase V, including reviews of each show and the running
time for each and every song played last year. The 1990 Year
in Review provides the most complete analysis available of
a remarkable year of Grateful Dead performances, the sort of
coverage that would be impossible for the cvomplete Deadbase."
The card goes on to explain that Deadbase V wn't be back from
the printers until July (maybe), and that it will "feature the
temporary return of Garciabase".
Here is the latest ordering info:

That time of year again...
Book rate Priority
Deadbase '91 $12.00 $14.00
Deadbase VI $27.00 $30.00
DeadBase '91 will be 221 pages this year.
"DeadBase VI will return from the printers later in the year (probably August)
and will again feature both GarciaBase and WeirBase. As the book will have to
be longer and will now exceed three pounds, it will cost $1 more than the
current edition. Containing extensive set lists, statistics, facts and opinion
on twenty-seven years of Grateful Dead magic, it is an invaluable resource for
any Deadhead."

The inevitable postcard apologizing for the delay of Deadbase VI has arrived;
the book should be shipping come october. There is a new option for those who
may be interested in ordering -- for an additional $12, you can get the book in
hardcover. They've somehow made the book phil up 576 pages this year!
Please remember to discuss this in note 61, lest the fickled finger of
digression nab yer note nastily....

60.28 | Base Your Face | BINKLY::CEPARSKI | I'll Get A New Start... | Thu Apr 04 1996 16:48 | 10 |
| The latest DeadBase is DeadBase IX and it contains all the Dead
Setlists up through and including 7/9/95 (altho the Summer Tour lists
are listed in the very back as an add-on). From what I've gathered
they'll be doing at least one more that integrates the Summer stuff
with the rest of it. The people at DeadBase suggest you get DB from
another source than directly from them - probably get it faster that
way. I know GDM and Terrapin Tapes sell them.
Check 'em out on the web at
http://www.cyberportal.net/deadbase/db.home.html

60.29 | now I can keep my DB VI at the office :-) | QUOIN::BELKIN | but from that cup no more | Thu Apr 04 1996 17:00 | 6 |
| You can also get DB IX at Headlines, on Main St. in Nashua.
Softcover is $34 and the hardcover (ask for it - its kept in back, no on the
display racks) is $40 or so. They also have DB Junior. I got the DB IX
in hardcover. I'm not likely to stop being a deadhead soon.... :-)

| I like all the show reviews! It helps when picking out tapes you've never
heard before from people's tapelists, and to help revive those hazy :-)
memories of shows you've been to. Or should I say, "make those old memories
come aliiiivvveeeee (come ALIVE!)" :-) ahhh... sing me back home...
