Anyone attempting to control behavior by banning objects need
only look at history to forecast the results.
At one point in our history, the consumption of alcohol was
strictly prohibited. The federal government spent millions of
dollars trying to "control" consumption of those products, all
in response to the "Public Outcry" demonizing those that misused
those products.
The truth was, only a small number of people misused alcohol. The
vast majority of folks continued to consume alcohol at the local
speakeasy, or they made their own. Supply was never a problem.
Al Capone and the Chicago gangs made sure that there was plenty
to go around. Most people ignored reports of the violence surronding
ths Chicago gangs, because they WANTED the products the gangs supplied.
Does any of the above sound familiar? You can replace the word
alcohol with any of the following: Drugs, Guns, Pornography, Etc
Have any drug "Control" laws eleminated the sale and use of Heroin,
Cocaine or Crack ? If only it were so simple.
